Amp Installed

Post by bh357 »

Well, last night I got my amp installed, and the front components hooked up. The amp is a Rockford Fosgate Punch 4004, and the speakers are Polk db6500's. The install is still not final, but this thing rocks. I can't believe how loud it gets, with only 50 watts going to each side. I still have to hook up the rear components (didn't have enough speaker wire for the rear passenger door), and tweak all the gain settings. I am using a Scosche line level converter, which gives me an extra set of gain controls to set.Adding the amp went a long way to fixing my imaging problem. Part of it may be that the rear speakers are not hooked up right now, but the imaging does seem a lot better than before (with the fader all the way forward). Bass response did improve a lot. I do have a wicked buzz in the passenger door that I need to ferret out. It occurs at some midbass frequencies, and almost sounds like it's the vapor barrier vibrating against the door skin.Overall I am very impressed with the sound.
