wow i shound like a darn motter cycle when i'm in lift i got it from ebay but you can also get it from http://www.cosmoracing.com108 bucksfrom the site 104 on ebay and it's a real cold air intake the filter is only 6" from the front driver side tirenow i'm going t o have to get exahust
Quick question, what year and model is your vibe> did your check engine light turn on when you replaced the intake. If it didn't what vacum hoses did you elimate if any.
I just rec'd mine from Cosmo for my 05. It looks great, nice quality, and nice color to it. Love the price! I got the red and it might be a bit showy (I'm used to raw muscle power - 400+rwhp in my Trans Am), but I guess that's the flavor. I got red to match the strut tower brace I also rec'd.I also got the Magnaflow, so I'm anxious to install. But the temps here in MI won't break 30, so I'm waiting for spring.
2005 base Vibe - Moonstone: MagnaFlow, STB, Cosmo CAI, tinted, JVC stereo with Sony speakers, removed roof rails.
Hi Everyoone I'm having some problems with my Cosmo CAI for VIBE 2003 with Foglights - Base model. I think the mechanic didn't install it properly, but anyways, my engine light is one and the car feels like it's shaking as if it's going to stall. Anyone in Toronto, that have a Vibe with the same CAI installed? I need to compare how mine was installed, cause I really think this guy didn't install it properly
hope you will be able to fix your problem. I got the same when I install mine... I finish by going to a dealer, pop the hood of a vibe in the show room, with all sellers looking at me with a wierd face, make a draw of the hauses and come back home to fix the prob.
thanks...could you do me a fav and take more pictures of your installation and email it to me? I would really appreciate it and would save me the time and grief. I know there is one vacuum hose to remove and one sensor...but I have no clue. my email is hacmenow@hotmail.com
Hey, in the 3rd picture, I see that you have a vacuum hose that looks like is connected to the engine. Is this true? Cause right now I've got the one coming from the engine connected to the CAI. If this is the case, where does the one fromthe CAI connect to? Thanks again. If you could email some high resolution pictures of your installation, I would really much appreciate it. My email addy is hacmenow@hotmail.com
hey Cyberjunkie. frist, I can't send you high rev pic, 'cause I don't have a numeric kodak, just my web cam I used for those three pics. second, you are not suppose to remove any hose or sensor from your engine, this is just for the GT, and you said you have a base Vibe. if you do have a GT, then you should ask to someone else, I can't help you for that. I don't know how your hoses are right now, but you should unplug all them from the CAI and the "split sensor", and connect them like this:1- you see on the pic "hause from the intake", you can see the hose going from a part of the engine, around 20 cm under the CAI, going up to connect on the intake. you can follow the hose on the pi, doing a form looking like a E.2- the vacuum hose from the engine is connected into the "split sensor" like you can see on the pic "hause from sensor 2"3- as you can see on pic "hause from sensor 1", the other hause that looks like coming from inside the car goes onto the "split sensor". If you position the sensor the same way that the pics, you shouldn't have prob to find the proper hole.4- when you'r done, unplug your batery for 1/2 hour to remove the CEL and reset the ECU.I can't help you more than that. If you can't fix it, then you should ask to the mecanic that put you in trouble and make him try to fix it. If a guy like me, that never touch to an engine and never change the oil himself, was able to install the CAI by himself with instructions in English when he's French, a mecanic like yours should have been able to do right the first time.
Hi TheWhite, thank you for your help and suggestions. I've managed to find the problem using the photos you sent. The vacuum hose was not in the proper place causing my car to feel jittery and very low RPM's like it was going to stall. I've switched the vacuum hoses and unplugged the battery. After 30 minutes or so, I reconnected the battery, and started up the car, and wow, the car purred very nicely and the engine light has finally gone away. I've test drove it just to make sure everything was okay, and sure enough it was. Thanks for your help, it was definitely much appreciated.
