it's not popular around here (my area of IL), but i noticed a lot of people here on the site use the term "that's hot" not trying to be a jerk, but do you realize you are following a trend created by nicole richie???? i have never heard someone in my area say it before, but it drives me nuts when i hear it on tv or read it!! dont look at life throught the eyes of a tire hub!!!

I never said that. Growing up the local shtick was "Whickid" (properly spelled w-i-c-k-e-d) and "Pisser" (properly pronounced 'pissah'). Of course in that state they have a town called Gloster (spelled Gloucester) and Wooster (spelled Worsterschiresauce (or something close to that).Terms I hate: -phat (no I'm not, I'm just heavy-skinned)-hardcore (it's properly said "hahdcoah")-LOL JMOP IMHO POOP GMAB DHYFM SOGOTP or any of those other acronyms I don't get right away but I don't want to feel stupid by asking so I completely miss the meaning of WIIYATA.

I just can't figure out "that's sick" i.e. that is supposed to mean that something is hot, cool, whatever... I'm confused. To me, when I say something is sick, it's truly sick, disturbing, etc. I just can't come to terms with using the term "sick" as a description of something that's actually good. Maybe that's just me...

Same with the term "That sucks" or "This sucks." or replace suck with blow. So its raining outside when you wanted to go out and cruise with the windows down in the Vibe. Yeah I'd be saying "Man that SUCKS!" but... really how does that literally suck? Same with expressions of "thats sick dude." or what ever. its not really sick...
