Problem with my Xenon's

My brother-in-law got me some Xenon head light's that I was thrilled to get. I installed them 2 days ago and they look awesome. But tonight, when I was showing them off to a co-worker the right side went out? I tapped the light housing and it went on. When I got home I floored the gas just to hear the engine whine once more before I put the car to bed and the right side blinked off again. So I got home and switched the right light with the blue halogen I had previously installed. No problems. I thought maybe there was not enough lube on the plugs, so I relubed the Xenon and re-installed it. Turned the car on now the left light blinked off, but came on when I tapped the housing? I restarted the engine again, now neither light came on until I tapped both light housing's.??? I ended up putting the blue Halogens back and they work just fine. (cuz I can't be driving and have my light's go out, my last car did that and a cop pulled me over for 'road-rage') Anyone know what the heck is wrong with my car??? The Xenon's are the same wattage and power as stock, all the wiring seems good. I just don't understand what's going on? Please help!! I really love how they look!

Be careful with what Xenon bulbs you get. A lot of the cheaper brands are just that, cheap. I've had ones before that only lasted a month. Best bet is to go with name brands, like PIAA. They are more $$, but come with a warranty.

get a multimeter and try continuity on the bulb, this will tell you if the filiment is gone. i used to have those blue ion bulbs on my sunfire. i got sick of them exploding and the filiments going after 2 weeks. i found that they last longer in the summer months.spring. when it get cold out and the sudden increase in temperature when you turn them on, blew them up!!!
