GM/TRD S/C Pulley options

Post by SoCalVibe »

Has anyone messed around with these pulleys yet? Mine, out of the box, appears to be abot 2.5' overall diameter. Do they measure these from the od, the belt surface, if so, the top of the ridge or the bottom. Kinda (removed) retentive , huh? Anyway, where can I get these pulley options. From reading previous threads, it seems as though these 1zz motors will handle up to 12psi and out of the box I'm putting out like 7.5psi, can someone confirm this? And of course I will be re-mapping my F/A mix via Unichip and after reading what happened to greenfire I am also researching water injection. Thanks in advanceMSN Messenger markpavey10 (at) hotmail (dot) com

Since I have a turbo, it is different. My charge air is intercooled. If you go up to 12 psi, your little sc is going to working very hard, and creating lots of heat! . I would not do this unless you cool the charge air!...in your case, use water injection...and make sure you supply plenty of fuel....!!!

Aren't there kits for the GM 3800 supercharged engines to add on a water/air intercooler? I wonder if there would be space to do something like that in the Vibe? I believe they install a plate between the supercharger outlet and the intake manifold:Even a crappy, inefficient intercooler would be a massive improvement over no intercooler at all.

over on http://www.matrixowners.com a few people have tried a bigger pulley larry blackrolla grennfire and a few others have tried a smaller pulley (with a/f controller, water injection, etc) without any signifigant gains . in fact i believe there was a company that was selling a supercharger upgrade kit (posted on matrix owners) that had included water injetion and a/controler and pulley. but they pulled the pulley because the didnt et any gains so far!

Has anyone tried to use a lightend OVERDRIVE crank pully to get more boost from the S/C?
