Tell me more!.... Price, what you had to do to hook it up, what does it do? Watch tv or dvd's or what? Whats that thing on the top that you put in? That is really one nice lookin unit to! I liiiiiiiiiiiikeeeeeeeee iiiiiiiiiit !!!!!
Thanks.I got it for $300 on buy.com, it retails for $400-$450 locally.I had to buy all of the metra kits listed in this post:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=15161"you'll need to find a harness called a 70-2003 by metra (or 80-2003 from Circuit City), a 40-GM10 antenna adapter, a Metra 99-8205 dash fit-kit." I just matched up the colors on the harness with the wires on the radio. Then it just pluged right in.The radio has a built in tv tuner and has 3 av inputs. It doesn't have a dvd player but I'm going to hook up my playstation to it for that. The unit on top of the radio is the omnifi 20gb mp3 player, here's the info on that:http://www.omnifimedia.com/pro...12541The great thing about the omnifi player is that in hooks up to your wireless network at home for updates. So basically you rip a new album to your pc and it pushes it to you car's player automatically. It sounds better than stock, and it's good enought for me.
Thanks for the pic.. I really do like the looks of this... I can't make up my mind what I want for mine.. I changed out the single cd to a 6 cd unit about 3 months ago.. I would like to have something with a little larger motorized LCD and something that will play DVD's and VCD's internally. You have the M&T? If you do, did you have to do anything with the amp?
Doesn't look too bad...how's the image quality on that radio? I've always been a bit skeptical of Dual equipment...

Even if it only works for a couple years, I'd probably find something else I'd want by then anyways.I really like the setup. In my Vue, I made a center console with the LCD monitor on the back of it so my boy in his center child seat has a good view of it, but I can't see what is on the screen w/o twisting around (preferrable while the car is stopped). If I had that H.U., I could have the video going to the H.U., then back to the bigger monitor, so I can see if I need to enter through a menu or something with the remote. Cool setup

Cool setup I agree with you, I'll only have it for a few years and it works great.. has a 1 year warranty why not take the plunge. I do plan on hooking up a rear monitor to it for my son soon.. I might do it next weekend. I think I'll just hang it off of the headrest or something.

I read the owner's and installation manual of the Dual unit, and keep seeing the message:"The TV/Video display functions of the XDV8125 will notoperate while the vehicle is moving. This is a safety featureto prevent driver distraction. TV/Video display functions willonly operate when vehicle is in Park and the parking brakeis engaged. It is illegal in most states for the driver to watchTV or view video while the vehicle is in motion."Does this mean that even if you hook up an external LCD monitor for viewing in the rear seat, it still may not show video to that LCD monitor while the vehicle is in motion?

You can potentially bypass the turn-off by connecting the wiring for the radio in a certain way. But, as the manual says, it is illegal to have full-motion video in view of the driver while the vehicle is moving. So, if you have it playing something, you can get pulled over and ticketed. Would you be the only person on the road to bypass the safety feature? No. It's most likely very easy to do, but I don't like posting bypasses publicly.

That class of radio? Most likely not. The only ones i've seen that can do that have navigation capabilities such as the soon-to-be-released AVIC-N2 and other GPS style units. Generally in-dash screen manufacturers rely on the parking brake wire, or, like Alpine, need the regular brake and the parking brake in a certain sequence to enable video.

does this affect your ability to adjust the fade and balance at all? i'm sorry if this is a completely stupid question, but i really don't know much about car audio. i'm thinking of going with an aftermarket head unit rather than just using an aux input adapter from logjamelectronics.com (i've been reading some rather negative things the last couple of days about the aux input adapter both here and elsewhere). i can get an alpine cda-9847 w/ alpine's aux input adapter (the same setup i used in my previous vehicle, worked like a charm) relatively cheaply, but i'm not sure what i might lose in the process...
