I'm looking to lower my vibe 1.75" or so but i also wanted to get my wheels/tires flush with the fender flares. im wondering how wide i can go with tires before ill get rubbing? hsould i go 225/40/17 or something more like 205 or 215 and just get spacers?

i did check out one and the 225/45/17 and 225/40/17 both seemed ok, im not too concerned about the sidewall so the 45 would be ok i guess, im mostly concerned with getting the wheels/tires flush with the fenders without getting rubbing

thanks again for the response but i guess i should have phrased my question differently. here goes: i want my wheels to come flush with the frnder flares, how should i go about doing it ie: what size wheels and tires should i go with (im thinkin 17's) or should i just get whatever wheels i like and get spacers to move them out?

My 275s are might close, in fact rub slightly on the rear, with 32 mm wheel offset, so a 225 would have (275 -225)/2 = 25 mm(1") more outer clearance. Therefore, depending on how far out you want the wheels and what offsets (or spacers) you can find you could likely go as low as perhaps a plus 25 offset and still have adequate clearance. However, when you start changing offset, it affects front tire scrub radius, steering kickback, wheel bearing loads...
