Has anyone figured out a way to "cut" the electrical cord on the blinking Passenger Seat belt light on the dash? My dog often sits in the front seat and the light blinks non-stop. Any suggestions? (Besides buckling him up??)Thanks!
You bring up an interesting point, Frosty. The best solution might be a modified dog leash that uses the seat belt latch as a retainer. When I've had dogs in my cars or trucks it has always been a distraction that fortunately hasn't led me into an accident. But I could easliy see the potential, particularly of a loose dog. And if you did have an accident, you would regret it if the dog was thrown thru the window and killed, but you were saved because you were belted in.You might check at a local car parts place to see if they carry seat belt hardware. You could probably rig up your own leash to hook into the seat buckle, and then you'd solve two problems. The light should go out, and your dog and you will be safer.Think about it.KSNeptune.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.....I'm sure that they would love the doggie seat belt idea (or NOT). I actually got the Vibe so that the dogs could be in the back, so that's where they are going to go!

I forgot where I saw it but someone fabricated a 'Security' light to replace the seat belt light and wired it to the security light next to the steering wheel. More visible than the current location. I was thinking about trying it myself.
