I finally put my new silverstars in. All I can say they suck. The reflection on the headlight is garbage. The light does look white, but has no gain. Is not dense and looks unclear. Also does not look neather white nor blue when looking directly at them. I know, I know, is not about the looks, but it does look worst then stock. Also, now my right light points out a little lower, or the left higher. I will check it out tomorrow. Hope I can return the bulbs. I had then in my mirage and was an improvement, but it seems the new ones, that I got, seem dimmer and not as intense as the onse I had on my mirage and bought in 2001/2002. Maybe they changed them?
Putting in new bulbs won't cause them to point differently unless they're installed wrong. Or, the silverstars are so much better they're pointing out the flaws in the headlight alignment. My silverstars had significantly increased the visibility over stock.

The reflection can be crap if the bulb is bent out of alignment from the base.I'm not all that impressed with them either. I wasted almost $100 putting them in my Grand Am. It took less than 3 months for a fog light to burn out. A month after that, the hi-beam filament burned out on one of the headlights. What a waste. Too much hype and too much $$$ for these these $ilver$tars .
well, last night i had a chance to check them out. they are ok, they do seem to provide more consisten light, but they have a cut off just like xenons do. the fogs are better. i do regret buying them. but over all i got about 10-15 percent improvement. hope they do not burn out fast...

The only alternative that'll last is stock replacement, or HID. Everything aftermarket (cheap or expensive, $80 PIAAs will do the same thing) won't last much longer than a year.

They have a 1 year warranty. I've had all of mine replaced for free. Mine last an average of 8 months, so for the price I get 16 months of fantastic lighting. I don't see a huge problem with that.
Hiya...I would have to wonder if myabe something in wrong in the install or maybe the bulbs themselves. There should be a very noticable difference between stock and Silverstars, including brighter light, more dispersed light as well.As for an alternative to the expense of paying for new Silverstars 3 times every 2 years or so, there are some decent bulbs at $10-$15 less that may not last as long but will give you just as good light output for less money. After 2 or 3 replacements, it's like getting a set for free.I went with Eurolites Fusions in the fogs after one Silverstar blew out. I had already replaced both headlights during the same period (about a year). For the fogs, I'd have to say the light is a brighter white light (blue bulb) than the Silverstars. At $20, it was well worth the cost. I then later replaced the headlights with Fusions as well but in the process, I also covered the light sensor so my head lights were on all the time the car was. Those bulbs went out in about 4 months. Replaced the Fusions with the regular Eurolites, the light is as white but doesn't disperse as well.I decided to order the Hella Optilux XP bulbs to replace the still working Eurolites. The Hellas ran me $25 but I haven't put em in yet. Since I'm running the lights all the time, 4-6 months (12-15,000 miles) isn't too bad. You may be replacing bulbs a lot but if you can find a comparable replacement like the Eurolites (or hopefully the Hellas) for much less, the overall cost won't be as painful.Dave
I've had to replace my silver stars twice on each side after ony 16 months thats a light every 4 months I contacted the company and they gave me the run around .I must say in the north here where its dark and I mean dark for extended periods of time they were very nice .I switched back to the stock lights that I kept until I can afford the HID kit .
