DC Sports headers

Post by kharman »

DC Sports makes headers for the Matrix XR...does anyone know if they will work for the Vibe, as they are the same engine?....

Yes, they'll work just as long as it's for the 2wd model. They have the same engines too.

Do you know what they run by chance? What kind of gains to expect?

That's about the same gains as a cat-back or CAI, which isn't too bad. Might have to keep this in mind. My bro-in-law was telling me to get these as well.

Or you could just have your stock header ported out. It will give you about 5-8 HP and cost a lot less. There is extensive info on http://www.NewCelica.org. I plan on doing just that when I get my custom Cat-Back done. I had a quote for $125.00 locally to port out my header. Basically, they just grind off the flange on the engine side of the header.

I'm inclined to port my existing header also. They work pretty well even unported, it will cost less and there are absolutely no fitment issues or CELs or whatever to worry about. $350.00 come on. The thing is tiny. I just bought a set of Gibson headers for my 5.3 L V8 for $210.00.
