Tein S install help

Post by Smokin' Rubber »

Ok, so finally after having the springs for several months without installing them I decided to do it today, but then i go to check the instruction in the DIY section and of course the site no longer works great luck lol. So anyone know another place that has directions or someone that could print of really good directions or something?

Well the instructions to install them are no different from installing the stock springs. But unless you are very strong, you'll need a spring compressor to install those springs. You'll also need to make sure the angle of the rear mounts is accurate. I do not know of any mechanical sites that explain how to change these... my friend did mine with tools from the dealership he worked at. I handed him the tools and watched for the most part... I can tell you to lift the car up off all four wheels on jack stands, remove all four wheels, remove all four struts/springs from the vehicle, mark them which are left and right. Fronts and rear are different in design so you can not mess those up. You can remove the fronts from under the hood for the top and with special tools, form the lower strut mount. The rear at the top you need to climb into your trunk and get to, they are under the floor. Using a spring compressor remove the spring from the mounts and install the new one in the same position. There is a yellow rubber cushion inside the mount that needs to have 2 inches cut off. Make sure each one is installed with the mount and spring in the same position as the stock one was and mount them back on the car, torque them down and lower the car back down on the ground. Thats what I helped with... so thats all I know. Fine details like torque specs, tools required for the job like size of sockets or special tool names... I have no idea.
