Just wanted to share this with my genvibe "family"Cigars to be passed around in May Congratulations! My wife just had our son Aug 10, 2004, so he is working on 8 months now. I hope your wifes delivery goes as well as hers did (they induced her due to signs of pre-eclampsia, but once she started pushing she had him in 6 minutes!). I hope you're mentally, emotionally, and physically ready for it, I sure wasn't and am having a pretty difficult time with it even now. Patienece is definitely something you need to have in advance! I am still working on that one to no avail! I'll just say it's hard and for me is something very hard for me to get used to. I have lost most all of my free time and the ability to do the things i always loved to do (i.e. play vidoe games, go out to movies, etc..) I don't want to scare you or anything, just want to be honest with you and put my opinion out there. Good luck and Congratulations again!

Thanks guys! I am very excited and nervous at the same time. I have been reading up and of course listening to all sorts of advice. It is going to be a boy and the due date is May 4th.

Congrats! ArcsVibe Wish list 2005: Sleep, Patience, Sanity, HA HAI'm probably older than you guys, I've got three. It is hard but there are moments all the time that make it worth while. A completely different ride from what we usually talk about here.
My advice: get some comfortable shoes. I was on my feet for almost 20 hours in the delivery room. Congrats: Your first car seat will have a base that clips into frame anchor and has a removable carrier. The carrier then snaps into the base. Get this one early and install following the instructions word by word. You're required to have this installed before you leave the hospital. (I'm sure you've already done this or have researched) IM if you have any questions. My son, 17 months, loves driving with me in the 5-speed Vibe more than my wife's Accord.Oh and get your rest now, you'll need the energy Cheers.

Congratulations! Practicing with the car seat is a good idea I'm thinking so you're not struggling with it outside the hospital on "coming home" day. I'm sure you'll both be great parents.

Congratulations! Raising a child is a sweet honor to be cherished.Parenthood changes your perspective of life and marriage forever. It's no longer 'all about 'me' or 'all about us', it's 'all about the baby' for the next few years. That said, it's often VERY difficult to cherish it much the first few months when neither of you is getting any sleep and all the baby seems to do is cry, eat, cry, sleep, cry, pee, and cry, poop. It really doesn't last FOREVER, it only seems that way the first three months! Our son was amazing. He slept through the night after only about two weeks. We were both older parents (38/39) who GREATLY needed and appreciated the extra Z's!Recruit the grandparents (like you COULD keep them away from a new grandchild! LOL) aunts and uncles and friends with children to help out! Give yourselves a much-needed night out, at least once a month, even if it's only to catch up on your rest. Respect your 'couplehood' and arrange for special 'date' time together on a regular basis.
