I wonder what other factors affect those death rates. Stuff like maybe people who buy the Mercedes E class are older and drive slow, or people who who bought a Kia Rio are depressed that the Rio was the only car they could buy so they drive suicidally, the firebird is a safe enough car just that the people who buy them dirve recklessly at high speeds, stuff like that. I remember a study that showed that children who sleep with a night light in the room have an increased risk of becoming nearsighted, but then a follow up study revealed that near sighted parents are more likley to use nightlights in their childrens bedrooms, so the nearsightedness was caused by genetics, not the nightlight.
