How hard would a 1zz to 2zz swap be and what other parts would be needed?

Post by damronjr »

I am considering buying a 2zz engine if it is easy to swap. It is from an auto XRS. He said it will come with the ECU and manifold. Is this something that can be done and what all would I need to do it?

Ugh, you'd need the whole drivetrain too...wouldn't an SC be cheaper?

Ok, here's what I'm looking at. He said it would come with the ECU, manifold, etc... What else would I need? Would it be worth it if I could get it at a low price?http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...WA:IT

Well, I'm sure his reserve isn't set lower than $1k, maybe $1500...the 2zz-GE is a pricey engine and $1k-$1500 would be CHEAP.

I keep hoping another SC will show up. Maybe if I just wait, but this $$$ will burn a hole in my pocket! I am already looking at switching rims or trying to find something else like racing seats or something for it. I keep thinking that I have this dumb-@$$ sponsorship that I could use, but they are such pain in the (removed) to use and I don't even think they help much. I don't know what to do. I wish the damn hood and body kit would come in! Maybe that would calm the mod-bug down a little for a while until something else comes out. It's chewing at my brain and telling me to find something to do!

Why not add nitrous and a turbo? Could you still run regular gas when not racing?

What would a full nitrous system cost? I have thought about airbags and scissor doors as well, but they too are a little expensive. I don't have enough $$$ all at once to go out and buy a SC from the dealer and get it installed and all that, but then that one came up last month of Ebay and sold for $1200, that was something I could have swung. Anything beyond that is too much for me at any given time. I can't save. It is impossible. I have tried and even put $$$ in online-only accounts, but I still end up transferring it back to my checking account eventually for something. I just want something new, but I look at a lot of things like I don't really need them, and I want to find something I can feel I need. Racing seats are coolto look at, but that's about it. A SC or turbo would be something I would consider as something I need, but they are too much. New rims are something I sort-of need, but the ones I have are fine but just getting on my nerves. Yeah, I'm weird and complicated, I know! I want more power and better looks. I have a vinyl kit but I can't put it on until the new fenders come in with the body kit. I want some other body parts but they aren't available yet. What do you guys think of these to swap my rims out with?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

Personally, I like the rims you have now better.

No need to drill holes or anything just buy the cone and the kit. Either way you go make sure you research be4 you buy any kit. http://www.zex.com/Technical/C...0.jpg

No thanks! I'll wait for a complete kit like SCVibe? stole from me for a dollar!

It's not real noticable, but it is to me, you know. I was thinking of blasting them and powdercoating or anodizing the spokes and repolishing the chrome lip so there wasn't any of that coating or whatever it is on there. I assume it would be cheaper than buying new wheels.

I'll take your front and rear bumper off your hands when your kit gets put on. I'm wanting to change to a monotone silver instead of the 2 tone.

Sounds good but I may have to wait for RKSport because I didn't get the rear bumper form Chris. I wanted RKSports rear bumper and I'm not sure when it will be available. I'll keep you posted though!
