New to the group. Hi everyone. and some ?s

Post by CJ Vibe »

Hello everyone,I've owned my 03 Aybiss vibe since they were first introduced. I never knew of this board till last week. Glad to see there are some other people suffering with the same illness I have.I live in Atlanta and am Taking the vibe on a trip to Ft myers FL. and then to Hollywood FL. While down there I am picking up repros of both the Factory rear wings I will also be getting tint done.I want to put on a kit and do a major upgrade on the wheels and tires.I've looked at streetgrafittis kit and the Factory offered kit. Is there anything else offered? The factory kit is priced to high in my opinion and Graffitis kit is still not available. Plus I like the earlier style grills.Eurbruni posted a sketch of a cool hood but I can't find that anywhere?Next Question, I have lowered the car using Hodgkis (sp?) Springs and have added a strut brace.I want to put 18" wheels on it. Does anyone know the correct backspacing? And if anyone is down in in the Florida area I am driving to I would buy and install them there. There seem to be a ton of custom shops in southern Florida so I'm hoping to get a deal.Great site, I'm still getting use to it though so If I am posting in the wrong area please correct me.Chris

Another Thing...Seats, I would like to sport up the seating. The stock seats offer no lower back or side support.

Welcome to GenVibe!Try looking at http://www.rksport.com and do a search on this forum for body kits, hoods, spoilers, etc.... you should find all the info you need. Others will join in and give you the info they have as well. For wheel backspacing, do you mean offset? If so, any thing between +35 to +42 offset should be fine.Enjoy and post pictures or link us to pictures of your vibe when you get a chance. We all love to see pics of each other rides.

Welcome aboard! As BlueCrush said, anything between +35 to +42 offset should be fine. As for bodykits, Aerogear's (street-graffiti) is in production now, so it should be available soon. Aside from this, the ONLY kit made FOR the Vibe is GM's. You could try to modify an existing kit (Matrix, or maybe a Mazda 6) to fit the Vibe.

1) it's Hotchkis BTW, 2), RKSport's kit isn't avialable yet either but should be by mid-summer according to the sales manager, 3) Street Graffiti'sit will be sold through them and Aerogear, but isn't available yet [even those of us who bought it through the GB haven't gotten ours yet], 4) kit-wise, Fox Marketing supposedly made one but I have never seen where they are selling it or plan to, none others exist to our knoweldge, 5) there are some hoods [i.e. VIS racing OEM carbon fiber hood, RKSport's cowl hood, SLP's Ram Air hood, and a Group Buy custom carbon fiber hood through JSP America. Otherwise, there are some suspension, exhaust, and intake, and misc parts you can find on ptuning, neverenuf, and some other sites. I'm sure others will post more info. Welcome to the site!

Seats would be cool, let me know if you find any good ones. Like you said, these seats arn't THAT comfortable and they stain real easy. I have white spots between my legs from I don't even know what and it looks pretty bad there in that spot

Welcome to the Encyclopedia of Vibe!As I've said before, it's truly amazing that with >150,000 Vibes ALREADY SOLD, there are not more manufacturers out there making aftermarket equipment and accessories! Maybe Genvibe needs to become a quasi-MARKETING group, and start promoting ourselves to manufacturers more!

I'd do it but it's technically not my car so I don't have the propper authorization

It's not that hard to put a different set of seats in, you just have to modify the brackets. Takes maybe about 15 minutes with a welder.

Hey all,Just got back from Maimi. I did do some shopping while I was there. I put on a set of 18" HP racing rims with 225s I also tintted out the Vibe. Man window tinting is cheap down there. $75 to do the whole car! It would have cost me about $200 up here in Atlanta.Bought a Bomz CAI, and will put that and the springs in this weekend.I also picked up the two rear wings for $320 down there. After I get all this done I figure seats are next.
