mine was built 3/12/03 (Wenesday). I got mine from Dealerworld VISS. The month and the year are right there on your door, along with the tire size information, and the VIN #, but NOT the day as I previously stated.Anyone that wants the information, I can get it from the parts catalog too.*moved this post from another thread, as I felt it needed it's own thread, and didn't add to the other one.*

The month and year are on the sticker with the VIN # and all sorts of info that's on the inside of the door frame on the driver's side. Specific build dates will be on a build sheet, an order sheet, or in the GM system that I believe only the dealership can get into.
Yes, it can be looked up in GM's system that way. Edit: The build number is the last 6 (I think) digits of the VIN#. But it's only the build number for your model year, I'm pretty sure they start it over. Sorry, I thought you said "date" and not "number" the first time.
I can look up build dates on Microcat. I don't mind, and I won't keep anyone's information unless they want a printed copy. I have no way other than fax or snail mail to get it to you, they have a security chip that keeps you from cutting and pasting, but there is the offer if anyone wants to know the EXACT day there car was built.PS My car will be 2 on Sat!!

A quick search on autotrader.com shows that the oldest Vibe for sale near me is production #709. It is a base Salsa 2-tone with about 40,700 miles, power package, and moonroof.

The 6th to last digit is always a 4.I don't know if this info applies the same to model years other than '03.Base Vibes VIN codes all start with 5Y2SLAWD Vibes all start with 5Y2SMVibe GT's all start with 5Y2SN

So what number is my '03 GT? Last 5 digits are: 29749. Does that mean it's #29749 off the assembly line?
