Starting problem

Post by Kingfisher »

About 2 months ago I had a problem with my vibe not wanting to start. It would sluggishly turn over but not start. After about 5 -6 tries it would eventually turn over. The dealer tested the battery and it was fine. This happened again two days ago and has been fine since. It doesn't seem to be related to the on-going battery issue that alot of people are experiencing. Could it be the starter? My warrenty expires in 2,00 miles, so I will definately have it looked at again. Anyone else have a similar problem?

how was the weather? really cold both times? The full strength battery might have had a problem turning over the starter... From my experience when a starter is going, it goes. Sluggish to start all the time. You could have a starter issue as you mentioned. The trick is to get it to act up for the mechanic.

Mavrik,The weather the first time was in the upper thirties, and the last time it was 45 - 50 degrees. We have had some really cold temps this winter (single digits) and it started like a champ. Lowell

could be the starter then, sticking on a flat spot or something.
