Transferring Mozilla Bookmarks

Post by Charlievibe »

In the next few months I will be moving on from this job and was wondering if anyone knows how to save or move bookmarks from Mozilla. In my time here I have acquired some really great science related bookmarks and don't want to loose them. If no one does, I will write them all down. Thanks!!!!!!

Here you go: 1. Open Mozilla 2. Click on the Bookmarks menu then click on Manage Bookmarks 3. Click on the Tools Menu and select Export 4. Under the "Save In" drop down, select Desktop; the file should be named bookmark.html. 5. Click Save.

The really nice thing about Mozilla bookmarks is that they are exported as a web page. This way you can e-mail it or post it on a public site for use on the road. The shortcut for bookmarks is CRTL+B.CheersA

also if you go to the following folder:C:Documents And SettingsApplication DataMozillaFirefoxProfiles(&#$(*#& copy the file bookmarks.htmlthen paste that file into your new computer in the same location. I use this method for keeping my bookmarks in sync on my desktop and with my "USB Firefox".There is a 'small version' of Firefox that runs on a USB key which allows me to plug into any computer and have all my bookmarks and cookies without leaving anything on the host computer. There's a Thunderbird version too!
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
