E-mail from Matrixowners.com? Don't do what it says.....

I received an e-mail this a.m. appearing to be from the administrator of Matrixowners.com instructing all memebers to go to a link and re-input their info. Having received many similar e-mails appearing to be from Paypal.com recently which are a fraud/fishing type e-mails trying to get your passwords, the e-mail from matrixowners.com sounded bogus also. I received another e-mail from I believe the real administrator of matrixowners.com a little later stating NOT to follow the instructions on the first e-mail because his account was "highjacked".Just thought I'd pass that along just in case any of our members were also Matrixowners.com members and received the fake e-mail.

I got the same thing, thanks for posting this up here coho as many members have an MO account as well. If for some reason anyone here may have already sent your password to the bogus e-mail account in question from this MO e-mail, change your password immediately. If you may be using the same username and password from MO that you use on GenVibe, change your password here as well. If you did not follow the instructions in the aforementioned e-mail, there should be nothing to worry about.Also to add, no staff or member from GenVibe will ever send out requests via e-mail to our members directly asking for your password. If you notice this happening to you, please contact myself (nick@genvibe.com) or one of the Global Moderators.

another episode in the saga of MO.It's down. It's back up. You'll get banned if you block their ads. You'll get deleted if you don't post. The site has been hacked. Man, maybe we need a matrixowners forum to keep up with all the problems over there.Thanks for the heads up, I feel sorry for the admin over there, pretty embarrassing to get compromised in such a public way. Any email I get that is supposed to be from a reputable site had better have proper spelling and grammar (and as you can see this one from MO does not). Thats usually a pretty good clue that the email is fake, although not always.

I've gotten several of those fake Paypal emails also. The link is to a non-secure website. Mine were always delivered to my junk mail and legit Paypal emails go to my inbox. I always check for the https in the web address before I sign in to any secure site, just in case.

I was thinking the same thing, it just doesn't read like someone typed it who knows what is going on. I get these kinds of e-mails all the time from banks and such that I don't have my account through.What I do love though is how Earthlink sends out e-mails to not follow e-mails telling you to change information on your account and then they send out e-mails telling you to update your information. The only difference is that you have to go to their web site, but I ignore those as well.People who do this kind of stuff need to get a life!!!!!
