Injen CAI, Progress RSB, and antenna bought!

Post by damronjr »

Well, I finally bought an Injen CAI, Progress RSB, and a different antenna! Hopefully they all arive as planned within a few days and I can install them this weekend, but more than likely won't be until next week. Oh well, at least I finally got them! Now if my body kit and hood would get done (hinit, hint, nudge, nudge!), then I could put my vinyl kit that has been sitting in my room for months on and I'd be set until I can afford a SC! That won't be anytime soon!EDIT! (removed), I hit GVG and didn't even no it! All hail GVG damronjr! Ha, it's about time and I didn't even realize when I hit it. I was waiting for that too! Guess I wasn't paying attention last night or this morning, whenever it was I just hit it!

Let me know how the RSB install goes, I have looked/searched old threads and it seems like a pain to get loose. I believe that will be my next mod when the spring rolls around. Congrats on the GVG action!

I have the Megan strut bar also. I like the fact that it is tucked back close to the firewall side. Here is a couple pics of mine:

I agree Blue, it looks mice tucked back, but I had my underbody kit transformer wired up to the firewall so I had to move it.

looks "mice" eh? I might have to consider buying one just because it's tucked further back than mine. I like the extra space just in case I need to remove the valve cover

is that strut bar difficult to install?...it can't be as easy as it looks....Quote, originally posted by BlueCrush »I have the Megan strut bar also. I like the fact that it is tucked back close to the firewall side. Here is a couple pics of mine:

Actually, it was quite easy. It took me 10 minutes. Take off the three nuts on each side. Remove the stock plates. Adjust the bar to fit the bolts in the holes. Put the nuts back on(do not tighten yet). Remove the slop (not too tight yet) in the bar by turning the blue bar either towards you or away from you. (Can't remember which.) Tighten the nuts and then tighten up the bar. And you done! In fact it took me almost as long to type, check spelling, re-type and post this.

So, the Megan Racing STB came today and we installed it. I'm not thrilled with the quality of the materials (very flimsy metal), but it looks cool enough! Here's some pics. (Boy, my engine looks pretty dirty! )And just for fun I took some more pics of the painted grills to show a little better color.Unfortunately it is already starting to chip from the rocks and stuff on the road. Oh well, it only has to last me until my body kit comes in!

(removed)! I love it. Yeah aluminum is very flimsy but it works real good I think...at first I was afraid ti was gonna buckle and shooot through the top of my hood but I've taken som ehard corners since the install and it's fine...I even have my neon tranfsformer right above it practically resting on the top of it so if it buckles the first thing to go will be my transformer snapping off the firewall lol.Grills look bad as hell too Where's your intake you big goof?

Well, the Injen CAI came in today!!!! Looks awesome and I can't wait to install it! I still haven't gotten to do the Progress RSB yet either, so that may end up being a weekend project! Plan to get new tires either this weekend or next. Probably this. I will have to post lots of pics when I finish everything.

Ok, so I installed the Progress RSB and Injen CAI today. As for the CAI, OH MY #&*)#@* GOD! I never could have expected such an awesome sound and power! I was blown away! Now, for the RSB, can someone please xplain to me what the he!! this thing is supposed to do?! After being laughed at by my bro-in-law and his uncle, we took to the task of installing this piece of equipment. Neither of us could figure out what the f$%@ this thing was supposed to do. It looks just like the old bar except weaker as the stock bar is a solid bar instead of a hollow bar with plates welded to it, and it fits in the stable hole that the old one came from, thus leaving us wondering how this makes any difference or even could. Maybe we're missing something here. Anyone care to explain this? Will post pics soon.

I dunno I allways thought the sway bars were suposed totighten handling? Do you notice a difference?

Do you notice a difference? It fits in the same exact place as the old bar with the same bolts in the same place. The casing around the entire assembly is steel, so even the stock bar seems to be useless. Anyone?
