just drove my '05 to replace my totaled '04 - why did they change center console?

car rides fine but new console is weak - I miss the storage lid. did they get rid of it to cut costs? or for some other reason?I read in another post someone found a lid from an old vibe in a salvage yard - any insight as to whether it is easy to add on to the '05 console?and can a lid be ordered from a pontiac parts supplier?

That really blows that GM would opt for the lesser one. The mini-compartment is so very useful!

Heck yeah! Where the heck would I store my fruit roll ups? Huh?! Where?! Noff said.Glad I got an 03. That new center console looks cheap...as in GM cheap.
