It Pays to Check Out Your Local Salvage Yard... Look What I Found!!

Post by BlueCrush »

I called ahead and they said they had two Vibes in the yard. One was an '03 Base and the other was an '04 GT. I went out in search of a center storage lid from an '03 or '04 for my '05. I found this in a Vibe that had no engine, doors, seats or dash just sitting there where it would normally be, virtually untouched. I could swear there was a spotlight shining down on it from the sky and heard heavenly music and birds chirping when I saw it. This was a most excellent find for $15.00:

Good find! Now I just need to find a Vibe like yours in a local junkyard so I can have the leather seats for my '03 GT.

I couldn't figure why you would want another "center arm rest thingie"(whatever) Brian. Then I saw an 05 and realized that the new one is crappy compaired to the one in the 03-04's, good find. And yes, leather seats would be great!

The color is a slight shade darker. You can really tell with the flash from the camera. In regular daylight and on a sunny day you can't tell at all the color difference. It's good enough for me. As far as heated leather seats. I can get it seat heater kit from the dealer for $500 or probably less from an independent company.

Well you can get the interior for Pontiac in a light or dark grey, I went with the dark grey myself. Still it looks good, you got that useful compartment out of the deal. The difference between a base steering wheel and the GT steering wheel is the GT is leather wrapped. Unless you buy an 05 base with the leather option.
