NO! NOT the PAINT!!!

Post by cieglo »

So I finally get my (removed) outside to shovel this morning. My son has already started. I said wait, let's clear the cars off first, then do the rest...so, I get my scraper, do most of my Vibe, then hand the scraper to him. I get the other scraper and start on the van (yes, I own a van too, shaddup!). I look to see what he's doing and..!!HORRORS!!!He's using the scraper to scrape the ice off the HOOD! AAAAHHHH!!!He stopped. Then I had to tell him the story of when I was a kid I used the snow shovel to clean off my mother's station wagon...and how the scratches were so bad she still talks about it.I have not dared look for damage yet...

Consider it a bonding exercise. Just wait till he makes his own set of keys. Kids are great - they what to be helpful but usually wind up destroying everything. Just sigh and say "I hope you have a child just like you."A

The best part was, as my face was turning red and words refused to form, he looked at me with that cluless look and said, "wha-?" and screaped some more. He's in middle school, looking forward to driving in a few years. I should have kept my Neon I keep thinking for something to teach him on...

O man. That sucks, but I can't help but laugh. That sounds like something I would have done back when I was a kid.

My wife once took sandpaper to the gas tank on her neighbor's motorcycle because she saw her Dad do it to his bike! I hide the sandpaper in my house.
