So as I was chatting with Kari this evening, my attention was arroused by a large bang. Nothing terribly unusual around Billings. We have train yards around and I'm used to strange sounds. However, when I heard it a second time and then sirens followed by a third bang, I decided to check things out. What I saw was an orange glow that filled a whole window in my house and smoke and embers drifting lazily over top.At this point, I dont know exactly what has happened but the early stories say there was an fire that started in a dentists office and spread to a housing complex that was under construction. An explosion was somehow involved. To give some perspective to the attached photo, the shadowy trees in the foreground are just across a canal that is off of my back yard. The aparment building to the right is across the street outside of my neighborhood, a distance of about 1.5 city blocks. The fire itself is about 7 or 8 blocks away but it didn't seem that way at first. The explosions were loud enough to shake my windows and floor and scare me pretty good but of course I couldn't help but take photos.Anyway, just had to share.
