Am i the only one with a PA/Airhorn in the armrest? :)

Post by ullbergm »

Basically i'm putting a Code3 3696P in my armrest. It is the same manufacturer you'd see in your local police cars but without the siren sounds. It has a PA and a airhorn sound and i'm putting a 100W speaker in the grille in the front. I dont know what to use the extra buttons for yet..

Sorry ullbergm, it's been done *heh* I'll bet yours doesn't have 2 dozen different aminal sound effects and sirens and play 50 different songs but I must say, yours looks much more beefy than mine. Mine does have a microphone, but it's not very loud.

Shades of my CB radio days! My CB/SSB (Single Side Band) radio had an 'AUX audio out'. I put a weatherproof speaker behind the grille. Pulled up behind a guy driving without his lights on and politely asked him to turn them on. He thought it was a cop and ran a couple of red-lights trying to get away! Still without his lights on! Later, I used the same speaker as a microphone to tape-record the sounds of SCCA racers at a road course.

Pair one of those PA's with some of Jahntassa's strobes...you'll freak people out! Pull up behind someone say "sir (or maam), hang up the phone before i have to issue a summons!"

Heck...get the right alarm siren, and you can do the same thing! Though..no PA. Some DEI sirens you can open up and 'program' which alarm tones you want it to sound.

i only have an electrically amplified Whelen Power Airhorn...i opted not to get the version with the PA...figured it get me in trouble sooner or later since its not completly legal for me to have/use it like i would like to....the 100 watt Whelen speaker mounted behind the grill gets enough attention.... ...if in the future i am able to use emergency lights colored red....i will have the PA with siren and airhorn...lol...but right now im satisified with my blue lights...im a volunteer firefighter and paid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
