Any Alana Davis fans?

Post by ragingfish »

REALLY random question, and completely off topic of anything even mildly related to cars...except for the fact she makes CD's, and CD's can play in our car...but anyway, it's a stretch...Have any other members here heard of Alana Davis and her music, and, if so, are there any folks in here who consider themselves fans?Just curious...

this may come as a surprise to some, since i kinda have the metalhead reputation, but i like her stuff. i wouldnt call myself a dedicated fan, but i have a few favorite songs. "32 flavors" and "lullbay" are my fav songs of hers. plus they have a hidden meaning to me, dont ask... and, it doesnt hurt that shes has a unique cuteness to her, lol. hey ragingfish, how and why is it you ask??

Wow! I didn't think anyone would've been able to respond!I ask because Alana is working on a new album now, due out early 2004, and I want to help get her name out there, and help her promote her new album...Plus, I just think she rocks the party, and I wanted to see if anyone out there shared my appreciation of her music. And at least one person does! WOOHOO!Meathead: Have you heard anything off of Fortune Cookies, or just Blame It On Me?

Yo, I just checked out the website with the sample of her sngs, not to shabby. kind of a mix of the new Joss Jones and Ben Harper thrown in a blender and smoothed out. I like it. Definately chill music. I know hte name is familliar but I just don't remember the songs. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I used to be a lil metal head and punker and just recently setteled down in my attitude and what not. My music has gone 180 degrees. I used to be all about Korn and NIN but now I'm more DMB and Ben Harper, Phish Country and Bluegrass. I think I may pick up her CD's. I'm due for a CD splurge. Just curious however, do you know her at all or involved in anyway with her. I only ask because it is so rare to see people so passionate about music. I like it.

Her father was the jazz artist Walter Davis Jr...so that plays into her style too!Quote, originally posted by Psychobroker »I've never heard of her before, but I might have heard her music...dunno. I'm kinda low on samplers, so if you prefer MP3's, lemme know... just make sure your e-mial account has about 6-7 megs of free space (hint hint get gmail!)bFear not, IMing me your addy does NOT get you put on any mailing lists. I personally send out the discs (or mp3s), once I mail it, your addy is forgotten.
