I would be interested to have a sense of reasonable gasoline prices in Ontario and border states (Michigan, New York) especially. I hate being ripped off! I know that there are sites that monitor gasoline prices in some areas. Any links out there or is anybody interesting in posting their local gas prices from time to time? Gasoline in Stratford, Ontario is currently at 77.9 cents per litre. Bought gas in St. Thomas for 67.9 cents yesterday but it was about to be raised about 9 cents a litre. London is at 73.9 yesterday.

That translates to 55 to 60 cents a litre. U.S. dollar is at $1.55 Canadian at present. Don't rush over to Windsor to gas up..

quote:tell me about it, right now around the detroit area gas prices i think are from 1.49 a gallon, to 1.59 a gallon US. My friend lives in florida and her price per gallon is around a 1.32 for the regular octane. what is the deal?May be states taxes or something like that. In Canada, gas is cheaper in Ontario then Quebec due to difference between provincial taxes rate.
Around Pittsburgh today (1-13-03)---Regular $1.43 per gallonPremium $1.64 per gallonI know that gas in Canada is usually higher than here in the states. In PA, we have to pay about 43 cents per gallon in taxes, part of which is supposed to go toward improving the roads here. Funny, for about the past decade, PA has been rated as having the 2nd worst roads in the nation if not the worst. I think some politicians in Harrisburg are getting suspiciously richer...The ongoing labor strike for oil producers in Venezuela is really raising prices here in the US. They supply us with about 17% of our oil according to the news. There is speculation that Bush is about to open up a few million barrels per day from our national strategic oil reserves to help stabilize the prices.

I am paying $1.63 to $1.73 for 92 octane here in NY.

$1.35.9 for regular yesterday (1/13/03) in my college town, in Kansas. But the students will be back next week, so I'm expecting it to go up. Demand increases prices here.KSNeptune
quote: I think OPEC is raising the price again too this week. sigh....OPEC voted yesterday a production increase of about 1,6 millon of drom per day, effective on feb 1st.
Supposedly an increase in supply should ease prices. I think we should think about moving to Kansas.. Stuck at 76.9 (Canadian) in Stratford, Ontario.

Yep. And I can remember when gas was 32 cents per gallon. (70's).Oh well. I'm making about $50 for each hour I work now, and was only making about $3 per hour then. I guess I can afford $1.50 gas.KSNeptune.
