Back to black...

Post by Psychobroker »

well, at least until Aerogear's bodykit is installed. I swapped in my black 3-peice billet grilles so I could ship my silver ones to Merzbrow, and finally got around to taking some pics. They're not ground-breaking or anything, but I think I like them more than the silver ones ).Oh, I AM aware that my plate is crooked and bent to hell , and I'm not going to bother censoring it either other pics:

Yeah. I think that yours looks a lot better without the grills. But yours should look pretty nice with the kit coming your way. When is that supposed to be in your hands by the way?Inder

Heya Psychobroker,Like the darkened look but the second picture you really can't see the grills at all. Was wondering if, at least from a distance or an angle if you think there is a difference between the OEM and the add-ons. I'm considering getting add-on grills but not sure about the style. Also, I do notice you have a decal on your roof rails but what do you think it would look like if they were blacked out too? I think I remember old posts where people painted or powder-coated theirs. Was considering using the cheap black eyebrow vinyl to cover mine instead of permanent paint. How do you think that would look?Dave

Looks sharp Chrisitan! Did you just spray paint them or what? I have thought about doing that, but don't want to screw them up if it comes out sh#*&y! Can't wait for our kits and hoods to come in! We will definitely have to take pics of our Vibes together when we get them installed!

I asked him if he could do a set in black, and he did. From the way he described it, these are powdercoated black. Now that I'm looking at the side-by-sides, I like them even more. They match my JDM'd headlights too. Thanks everyone for the feedback.

I am painting mine right now. Not sure how well they will look or hold up, but I only need them until the kit comes in! Did the top set last night, might have to wait to get the bottoms off as it is raining and I don't have a garage!

I miss the ability to just run outside and paint something...30 degree wheatehr does not permit it...you guys are SOOOO unbelievably lucky you have no idea...my caliper paint looks like absolute sh*t because of hte road salt and I can't do a thing about it until it warms above 50 to paint them again.

(removed), I scraped what I could get off without removing the wheel but it still looks rediculous...I'll take off the wheels tomorow and try to get it all off no worse feeling than that of reverting something back to stock!

Nice look, I really like it. But the blue just sets everything off nicely, that is such an awsome color!

With the black accents now your blue looks WAAAAY darker than stock. It's almost like custom paint job. Doesn't look real
