ANGRY Poopypants

Post by Mr. Poopypants »

So I ran out of washer juice yesterday and I went to the gas station last night to grab some more. It was snowing so they threw some salt down on the road and it was really caking up on my windshield. So I decided to put the fluid in while at the gas station. I flip up the cap and I guess I flipped the cap up too far and it fell off. Now, normally, this wouldn't bother me, I could just reach in there and grab it, but it was snowing, everything was soaked, I was meeting Mrs. Poopy for dinner and didn't want to get messy, and it wasn't on the ground. So now, I don't know if my pisser fluid cap is wedged somewhere in my engine compartment, or if it fell out of the spot where it was wedged in and is now laying on RT. 30. Just in case, can I order one from GMPartsDirect??

I got shafted on the hinge piece for the console last month from my friendly neighborhood GM dealer. $34CAN for a piece of plastic smaller than the cap for a pen!

I was talking to our salesman at the Dodge dealership when we got the truck, and I was trying to jerk him around on the price. I told him I knew they made a s-load of $$ on their sales, and he explained this to me:That's what I thought before I started working here. I figured, hey you guys make at least a few grand off each vehicle, but in reality, they only make a couple hundred! They make all their money in parts and service department! Even warranty stuff is paid for by the warranty companies to the dealerships! Makes sense, but he could be full of crap too. I still ended up getting a better deal. They NEEDed me to put $1500 down or it would be over their 120% financing rule(due to a little under trade-in), so I told them, I know you make a s-load off of these vehicles, so just knock off the $1500 and send me on my way with the truck. That's when I got that story. Just thought I'd share and see the responses fromt he GM guys!

It is amazing how they can sell a car all assembled for $19,000 when the parts are $150,000.I think I'd find a plastic cap big enough to cover the opening and use some duct tape to hold it on. [Or visit my local junk yard. But don't be tempted to be looking under the hood of a Vibe at your dealer !]

That sucks man! GM Parts Direct has it for $8.62. But by the time you pay for shipping, it probably will end up costing about the same. At least they didn't force you buy a new windshield washer reservior just to get the cap. When the latch on my arm rest broke, they had to order the whole new armrest for a $0.50 piece of plastic. They do have us by the you know what's for sure.

I can't believe I paid $34CAN for that damn hinge! That's it, I'm making it a rule to call Toyota first for parts from now on.

if it was my car I'd go with a plastic bag and a rubber band to keep stuff out of the reservoir until I had a chance to look around the engine bay for the original cap

Hey Poopy,If you have a junk yard near, I would imagine that the cap would be the same for most recent model mid-range toyotas. You could probably get a cap for free if you found a celica or corolla in one. Just a thought...Dave

I am going to wait to see if I can find it but I wanted to see what the damage would be if I did lose it.
