I would love to get myself a vibe, but being a college student makes me pretty poor! I happen to see a TV ad for the xA and thinks it looks pretty cool, plus they are owned by Toyota, right?

Not enough cargo space, that was my only complaint, otherwise I would have bought one! They are made by Toyota. Very cheap for poor college students, too! They already have a lot of aftermarket stuff for them too, lots of options!

Yep, they are Toyotas. I believe the xA and xB both share the Echo's mechanicals, if I remember correctly. The xA is probably my most liked Scion. Not sure how to describe it, but it's just got this low to the ground go-kart thing going on that I find interesting. Makes me think of a cheap Mini in some aspects...The price is very good on those, plenty of goodies for very little money. Worth a look if you're interested! They're probably one of the better deals you'll find on a Toyota lot, IMHO. My opinion has always been that Toyotas are overpriced, but the Scion line to me seems like you'll get more bang for your buck.

I test drove a Matrix (ie a Vibe) and an xA on the same day:The back seats have no leg room, and I'm just 5'11". Also, the cargo area is a joke without the back seats down. Also, the xA has ZERO power. Someone mentioned having a go-cart look. It also moves like a go-cart with 500lbs of extra metal on it.That said, it comes with a host a great standard features, including ABS.If it were me, I'd consider a used Vibe or Matrix first, though.

At least it has some interior room.Despite my opinions on the xA and xB, I would say to the Scion bashers that the tC is really a great car, especially for the money. If I didn't need a 4-door family vehicle, I might be driving it instead of the Vibe....

I would LOVE to have one of these! If I hadn't already bought my Vibe, and if I could fit in it (always an important question when you're a tallfellow), I wouldn't hesitate. I wouldn't go for the factory options, though. $500 for lighted cupholders?!?!? I don't think so! ~ Z600

The engine is a 1.6 VVT-i with 108 hp. It has rather sad pick-up to it, but it handles decently enough.I'd rather get a Suzuki Aerio SX than a Scion XA, and the Aerior is basically a motocycle with 4 wheels

I love the previous posts!!Guess I can't add much more. Thought I liked the look of the Xa until I watched one go by on the highway. Thats just a personal preference though. You may like it.It's basically a redesigned Echo. Cheap, fantastic mileage, not much power, probably reliable (not always a guarantee with Toyota-I got a story of a POS RAV4), and definately less cargo space than the Vibe.Good luck on your choice "Vibeless"

Thankfully, I haven't seen too many Scions around here in N. Illinois. Both are too small for my taste. The xB looks like a 5 year old designed it in a kindergarten class. The tc though, I like that. Nice, clean design, IMO.

Just curious...What is the proper pronunciation of Scion?I was thinking "Schawn" or "Schon".A friend of mine thought it was "Sky-on" or "Sk-ion"Any thoughts?

Scion is is indeed pronounced "Sigh-Yon" and the words refers to either an heir ro a legacy/throne/etc, or a descendant. Personally, I believe it refers to the fact that it's a descendant from Toyota. Makes sense to me, and that's the story I'm sticking to.

Wowsers! I can't believe how little some people paid for their vibes, new. Even with GMS pricing, I couldn't afford one with the features I needed, like automatic transmission. I bought a used 2003 that has more upgrades than I would have been able to put into a new one.I've been eyeing the Scion xAs for a whlle and really wanted to test drive one, but didn't get a chance to. The price is good and I like their looks. We were kind of concerned if they would have enough room...one of the reasons for the new car was to have a 4-door and have more space. When you're used to driving a smaller car a Vibe has awesome amounts of space.Hubby likes the xBs, for some unknown reason. He drools over Honda Elements,too...must like boxy vehicles. Anyhow, I think my vibe is sort of like a big xA. Just don't call it a station wagon!
my next vehicle will be a scion tCI really like the xAs but I talked to a guy who put his on the dyno and got a whopping 80 something horse to the wheels.. and that was WITH intake and exhaustthe tC is rated at 160hp so that should pump things up a bit. If they ever made a xA with the tC motor, i'd be all over it.
