I was there on vacation 2 summers ago and I got to drive right next to the Speedway on my way back to the airport. It was like 4am so there wasn't much traffic on the road and we were moving along at a pretty good speed. I remember that the building is HUGE and it seemed to take so long to pass it. But I've never been there for a race or anything. Looks like it would be a cool experience, though.

#20 a.k.a. The Columbus Comet, a.k.a. The Rushville Rocket, a.k.a Mr. Anger Management. Tony Stewart is finally ready to win the big one. Unfortunately for Team Tony, so is Chad Knaus, Jimmie Johnson's crew chief.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say..... the redneck that drives in a circle, counterclockwise, the fastest.(By the way, this is a joke, some of you may have heard of a joke before, but if you are a little rusty on humor go to the humor forum to understand what a joke is.)

I will say this, I am not a fan of NASCAR. I find nothing exciting about 500 miles of left hand turns. Yes, I know there are road courses, but I still have no interest in it.

I will say this, I am not a fan of NASCAR. I find nothing exciting about 500 miles of left hand turns. Yes, I know there are road courses, but I still have no interest in it. Like most everything, NASCAR is an acquired taste. Not for you? No problem. I'm sure there are other things you enjoy. Enjoy them. Have a great life![RANT]I'm a redneck NASCAR fan and proud of it. There. I said it.I also enjoy watching Monster Truck 'racing', demolition derbies, high school basketball, and high school football over 'professional basketball' and 'professional football'.I'll be the first to suggest that the fan base of NASCAR is probably CENTERED in male tobacco users who never even attempted education beyond 10th grade. I have both an undergraduate and a masters' degree in education from an accredited institution of higher learning, and I'm over 50, so I'm well outside the target market demographics.Much like professional wrestling, (Oh gawrsh! Ya mean it's ain't 100% REAL either???) many aspects of NASCAR are highly STRUCTURED AND/OR scripted by the careful design of management. It makes for many close finishes. Even knowing that it might be 'rigged' somehow, I still find close finishes exciting. It's not the four hours and the 999 other left turns to get there, it's the last 2500 or 250 or 25 feet, side by side, rooting for your favorite(s).'Good versus Evil' in wrestling becomes 'Ford versus Chivvy' (intentionally mis-spelled to reflect the redneck pronounciation) in NASCAR and to carry the analogy further, the tag team in wrestling now becomes something like Ford & Chevy vs Dodge & Tie-yota in Craftsman Trucks.I began following NASCAR only when some of the brightest rising young stars in U. S. racing (Jeff Gordon, then Tony Stewart, to name two) saw that the best career opportunities were in NASCAR, TO THE COMPLETE EXCLUSION OF Formula One, north American open-wheel championship racing in various forms, American LeMans Series, international rallying, monster trucks, Tour de France cycling, or go-carts in the WalMart parking lot.I lost interest in the two north American open wheel racing series (CART-OWRS-IndyCar-IRL-whatever they're called this week) because they were more concerned about fighting each other than about putting on a good show for the fans, and because there were so few American drivers competing. No 'homegrown Amurriken talent', redneck appeal, zero.I lost interest in F1 when I saw the series dictator (Bernie Ecclestone) structure rules packages that required/encouraged/allowed international teams with (allegedly) the world's best technology and the world's best young drivers invest/throw away $100 million a year to consistently finish in 12th-18th place, while Michael Schumacher and Team Ferrari dominated. On many F1 circuits the only true 'race' is to the first turn, because the courses are so narrow they basically don't permit passing. On many other F1 circuits, 25% of the field is eliminated in a huge crash at the first turn because many of the 'world's best drivers' apparently are not coordinated enough to accelerate, then steer, brake, and breathe at the same time. We rednecks cain't enjoy what we cain't pronounce! Redneck appeal, zero.[/RANT]
