I definitely like the GTO, especially in Judge form. My unkle bought a horrid '69 Judge and restored that thing over the process of a decade. Carosuel red (it's ORANGE lol!) 400, 4-speed, ram air, hood tach... yeah! It came from up north, so it needed quite a bit of work - floor pans, quarter panels, etc, etc. I helped him out from time to time on the car as I was in high school.It was looking beautiful by the time he sold it. He had to let her go, finanancial issues. It was a lot like the goat shown in the pic, only his wasn't in convertible form.Drove it a couple of times, it was something else!

And I also have a soft spot in my heart for the '68 Chevelle. That was my father's first new car. Dark blue, white interior, 396, automatic. He bought it new when he and mom lived in Alaska, brought it down here, and they had to sell it.About 10 years later, he bought it back, and had to undo quite a bit of damage from the previous owner. Engine and all was blown when he got the car back. Sadly, after fixing that one back up, he had to let that one go. Sold it so they could help put my sister through college. I'd like to find another for him someday. Can't remember if this car is the same color his was - it's close. Not sure if this paint job was stock. But I love that blue! Kinda reminds me of the Neptune I have on my Vibe. BTW, was that the color "Plum Crazy" on that Roadrunner?

I had that '72 GTO in that same color. It was sweet. Had white Naugahyde interior with a 3-speed automatic. Very fast ! But it certainly drank (guzzled) the gas.

1970 Chevelle SS (two headlights), 1969 Camaro SS/RS (with the flip around headlights), 67 big block vette coupe, 63 split window coupe, 55 Chevy, the list goes on and on and on. To many to list!

I love the 4th gen Monte Carlos. Here's a pic of mine. This is my first and only car; I'm 29 and have driven this the past 11 years. I'm sure going to miss her, she's sexy. I am selling her to help with the downpayment on what I hope to be a sc'd Vibe

I almost got a 4th gen Monte Carlo instead of the VIbe! White with Maroon interrior, 350, dual flowmaster exhuast.My favorite musle car would be the '67-'69 Baracuda.

Hey yeah, those are Irocs. Its commonly done within the Chevy crowd, they look nice, don't upset the lines of the car and they age well. And wow, a 383! Nice. Unfortunately, this car came with the 4.3L which essentially the 350 (same bore and stroke) but with two cylinders cut off - but lots of low end grunt. I love it. I am selling it because although it still runs great at 216,000 miles, it just doesn't fit the lifestyle anymore (cyclist, rockclimber). I do get a kick out of pulling up to the trailhead though and popping the trunk to get my bike, while everyone else feels its necessary to own a huge SUV to haul one bike. It'll be sad to see it go.my girlfriend: "do you remember your first love?"dug: "yeah, its still close to me."girlfriend: "Oh, honey! I'm your first love?"dug: "um. I was going to say 4.3L too... Sad to get rid of it but wow over 200,000 miles! Congrats! Sadly, the old they do not build them like they used to will apply after you get rid of it! Oh well technologies change I suppose... Yours is nice and I also like the 1985 and up I believe Monte Carlo SS's. Have you seen the new Monte, over 300 HP V8! Yeah buddy the HP wars are back on!

4th gen montes are 81-88. I also like the turbo buicks and the Hurst/442 olds, as well as the 78-83 Malibu wagons. They are the "next" muscle car and values are starting to climb on them.I have an 83 parts monte that has the 4.3 in it. I also have a 91 S10 with the 4.3; this truck has 223k miles on it.If you were closer I'd look into buying that monte, but I'm not up to a road trip.

He traded it in on a '73 Duster, had a chance to buy the same Duster back about five years ago, but decided not too. Pissed me off I tell you what. I always liked the Dodge Superbee.

Oh man, nice Monte! That was my first car... '82, white with dark blue vinyl top and dark blue interior. It was 10 years old when I bought it, and only had 84K miles on it. It was beautiful! Had plenty of time to dork around with it before I was able to drive it, bought it when I was 14. It was the best damn deal too, a friend of dad's had it, his wife was driving down to Florida and the engine caught fire. Can you say 229 V6 with leaky valve covers? Bought it for $500! Went to the junk yard, bought the necessary plastic pieces (fan shroud, cruise control, coolant reservior, etc) and wiring harnesses for $75. Think I put a set of plugs and wires, distributor cap, can't remember what else. Really didn't take that much to bring it back to life after the fire. The thing was far from a muscle car though. The 229 V6 I believe had only 110HP - wow, 20 less than my Vibe and a heck of a lot heavier! Never really got it running quite right - rebuilt the carb a couple times (good ol' dualjet 2bbl) but it was always a bit rough around the edges.Traded that car in, and got like $1500 out of it on trade. But sadly, this jacknad I went to school with bought the thing and completely trashed the car. It was soooo nice, and he completely ran it into the gutter. It hurt! Always have a soft spot in my heart for that beast. My uncle had a '84 Monte SS that he dropped a 350 in once the 305 died. That thing was pretty quick. Remember the Monte Carlo Aerocoupe with the NASCAR-style slanted back glass circa 1986? Think they made 'em in '86-'87 or so... http://www.montecarloss.com/86Aerocoupe.html

ha! I'm a registered user at montecarloss.com as well! Under the same user name. That site rocks, those guys know so much about that car, its amazing. I think the latest mod was using the spindles off the A-bodys (Caprices) to improve chamber in the front handling while reducing bumpsteer. There are so many mods I'd like to do to that car, starting with a body-off restoration. Man, sounds like there is quite a fan club for the Monte (as well as the Cuda and Mustangs). This is what I love; enthusiasts that keep cars like these alive. Its because of us this that I believe later when I have the time and money to invest in such a project, I won't have any problem finding a car thats worthy of restoration. But it doesn't start with the older cars, its starts now: we need to let GM know they need to get off their @sses and get that supercharger out NOW for the 2005's.

The SS 454 Monte of 1970 & 71 is relatively little known, usually overshadowed by the Chevelles. I will add the 74' AMX 401, only 235 horses net, but lots of torque. Also, it looks pretty mean.

1971 Ford Maverick Grabber 302 - one of the stealthier muscle cars of the era because the 1970 Grabbers all had 6-cyl engines. My folks purchased one of the very first 302 Grabbers produced in May 1971. It was Grabber Yellow with black Scotchlite stripes that reflected white at night.Only a 210 horse 2-barrel V8 and 3-speed automatic, but the dealer had installed dual exhaust with glasspacks so it breathed and sounded MUCH better than the average 302 Grabber. Top speed was well over the 120 indicated on the speedometer.

The Bricklin SV-1, a front engined Pantera competitor. Powered by an American Motors 360, subsequently a Ford 351. Available in a most excellent range of day glo safety colors. Mustang II Mach 1 302. Popular with the ladies.

I love Monte's as well. I had a 2nd Gen with a 350 in it and a 4th Gen with a 305. I may get an older one as a cruiser in the future.

My two all-time favorite musclecars:1968 Mustang Shelby GT500KR1969 Ford Fairlane Cobra. Because, other than the Cobra badges on the fenders, it's got a bit of a sleeper look to it. Especially since it's not a fastback version. But, it's running a 428ci Cobra Jet

Hmm, I kinda forgot about the Grand National until I saw a badly abused one on a rollback truck this afternoon. How could I forget the Grand National? Or even another specimen from the 1980's Buick era - the Turbo Regal. I see GN's from time to time, but I can't remember when the last time was that I spotted a Turbo Regal.

That looks like a Hemi Cuda shaker on that Matador coupe? That's sad, I like the Matador coupe. GNs are the ones that get saved, whereas the Turbo Regals are used as everyday cars so they are getting rare.
