Yeah, so I'm washing my car today. And when I go to dry it, I see this line, goin from my back right door to the front right door. I'm like man, (removed)! That's retarded. Some keyed my car because I was parked at an angle to make sure no one would swing their door open on my car.. This is ****in retarded. Mine my language. I apologize. There will be hell to pay when I find out who did this. The person parks in the same parking garage as me. So one of these days, they best watch out. You just got a very big guy pissed beyond belief.

I would kill the world if that happened to mine. I'd probably plant explosives everywhere in the parking garage to ensure I got who ever did it back! Take a pic of the scratch. Why the f*** do people damage other's cars? For one, some people's cars are almost like that person's soul. Expresses them. Secondly, cars are expensive as h*ll and not scratching it is rediculously in considerate.
Yea, there'd definately be some dead bodies flowing out of the parking garage in a river of blood if that was my baby. That's why I park 89 miles away from every other vehicle just to insure that idiots don't park next to me/ I don't know if I want to go to Wayne anymore if this kinda stuff happens on a regular basis!
You know - oddly enough from that last photo I'd say it wasn't a key.Looks more like something (I'm thinking a door) got dragged down the side - don't know how, but that scuff/scratch if way to large to be something small like a key.

I can't agree with you guys more, it is such B.S. that some people are like that. I think they are just jealous, that's all because they don't have or can't afford nice things so they decide to F with other peoples' stuff.

YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

I do agree that only a gutless turd keys a car. However, I don't agree with diagonal parking. I know I am going to ruffle some feathers here, but those lines are there for a reason, to park within them. If you are that concerned about your car being dinged, you should park far away from anyone, or just keep it in the garage. Cars get dinged, it is a fact of life.

If you can't park away from everyone because there are not enough spots, mabey someone got pissed since you were taking up 2. It kinda irks me when someone parks to take up 2 spots, and there are no other spots left to park. Whoever did that to your car is still a jerk in my opinion. You don't mess with a persons car. I wouldn't kill the person though, just break their knees and key their face.......in a nice way. Glad I'm going to OU when I get back up there.

That's the thing. I wasn't taking up anyone's spot or anything. Someone just wanted to be an a$$hole and do this. I don't even care anymore. So much BS has happened to my car since I got it, I don't have much motivation to actually fix it.

Sometimes parking far away from everyone else is not enough. Even at school I'll park like 4 rows away from EVERYONE and it never fails. Some d*ckhead in an old rusted out Grand am or piece of trash lumina will park RIGHT NEXT TO ME WHEN THERE'S 657204670243 other spots with no cars around them!If it is true that Inder's scratch was caused by a breifcase or purse (I can just picture some stupid kid on the cell phone gouging out his doors un-knowingly) Than just imagine how much worse it would have been if he had been parked within the lines. It would have been a tighter squeeze for the dumb@$$ walking between the cars so the scratch would have been deeper. Maybe we should get a petition togather to widen the parking spaces, or put the dashed lines between them like on the handicapped ones.Parking at my work is like a game. You have to judge the wind direction and park closest to the direction it's blowing from so that carts dont blow into the car from all the lazy customers that can't walk the extra 40 feet to the cart returns. You cant park too far away from the other cars or you might get hit by some stupid idiot not paying attention as they illegal cut across the parking lot, and you can't park too close because someone might hit you with their cart as they unload their groceries and leave it in the middle of the aisle....see the things we have to put up with so you all can get your groceries and go home happy after work? lol. I can beat anyone at the parking lot game.

Now does the parking lot have cameras that might have caught something? I know when I lived in an apartment with underground parking, it had a camera. And I agree with all of you, people who have nothing better to do but damage something SOMEONE ELSE owns and worked hard for need to be sent over to Iraq to die instead of the better people who are. I still get mad when I see little dents in my car. I know someone made them but they are on the pillor beside the windshield on BOTH sides and would have to be drilled to be popped out.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I am bitter about the few dings I have in my car too, but they came from normal everyday use and I know that you cannot keep your car perfect for the entire life of the car so I just accept it. I do sympathize with TRD though, my last car got keyed pretty bad.

looking at your diagram, what is located in the "no parking" area or beyond it? A doorway, garbage area, etc.? I used to live in a building and our underground parking was like that. The no parking area in your drawing led to a stairwell in my scenario. It doesn't look like a key, but it looks like somebody had to walk past your car while carrying something to or from that 'no parking' area. maybe a ladder? just trying to think how it would have happened. while you may think somebody did it on purpose, i personally don't like to think that way until somebody is proven guilty (the old innocent until proven guilty that our countries should be proud of honouring ....unlike other parts of the world!)i'd try and look beyond your spot and find out why somebody would have been walking past your car and what could they have been carrying at the time that they accidently didn't know was rubbing up against your car. (that's where the ladder suggestion came from). Then you may find out who or what actually did that.life's to short to get so angry so quickly over something...and i think not automatically assuming somebody was out to do 'us' harm is a good place to start...just a thought.
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
I have a suggestion. If you park like that on a regular basis, rather than potentially irritate other drivers and park at an angle like that (I know it bothers me), if that spot on the other side of your spot is a no parking zone, you could hug the line on the right side, and have more space on the drivers side of the car to get out, and, in an essance, be spared any stray doors from the person parking next to you.
If we're taking a poll, ya I'd say it was deliberate, considering it was down both doors. Doesn't look like the very thin sheet metal was creased like if it was done by anything else than someone scraping a key or something down the doors. It's unfortunate the world is filled with disrespectful cowards. Probably someone who was jealous of your car. You may want to check with your ins. co. to see if there would be a deductible if you have it fixed, and it would be nice if it was caught on video. There's time-lapse video cameras on many businesses nowadays. Just remember, the only reason some people are alive is because it is illegal to kill them.
that's a good idea. I do that at my work sometimes. My boss has a Vibe too. He will park on an end spot and I will park next to him sometimes but I know he will not be using his passenger side and neither will I so I will park passenger to passenger with about literally 3 inches between the doors and that gives me like an extra 1-2 feet on the other side of the car almost garenteeing no one will hit me with their doors even if they're driving a huge '80s caddilac..
I use my passenger side door even without a passenger. If I want to drop something in the car, I'll often go for the passenger side door. Guess you guys never want to drop something in your passenger side seat!

The other day I came out my work only to see a parent sitting on my car. (I teach, and get to park right in front of my classroom.) As much as I wanted to yell at the stupid woman, I was professionalabout it, and told her in no uncertain terms to get off of my car. She pleaded innocent and that "I was only...blah-blah-blah." I told her it was extremely disrespectful to sit on anyone's car, especially mine, and that I didn't appreciate it. Luckily for her, there were no scratches where she sat. Now she makes a BIG line around my car 'cause she knows I'm watching her.

Yeah that is disrespectful. I don't even so much as brush against anyone else's car... out of respect, and out of fear of setting of someone's car alarm.

(removed) wow I give you MAJOR props for keeping our head in that situation there fusion! I probably would have speared her off the hood and snapped her neck on accident without even meaning to lol. I just have a natural instinct to go crazy if someone screws with my baby even thogh I would regret it afterwards. When I get carts at my work I allways help people out with their cars even when they probably don't care, like if someones got 25 lbs of snow caked behind the wheel ill gently knock it off so they dont run it over going 65mph and loose control. Sometimes I'll dive in front of carts that are blowing across the parking lot just to save someone a ding on their 100% stock leased Grand Am. Even if the drivers don't appreciate my secret efforts I do it for the poor cars that have ot put up with abuse all the time. From now on when you go into the supermarket there may be a bagger outside keeping an eye on your car for you
My sympathies Inder. Messing with a man's (Or woman's, not to exclude the GVC ladies) car is below the belt and personal. I'd be heated over it too >Good luck finding out who did it, and let's hope nobody else is there as witness when you DO find them.
It's especially upsetting when you get that perfect spot. The one that can protect you without putting somebody else out and you still get nailed. I haven't bothered with protective parking since I had an RX7 from the first boat load in the late 70s. There were always finger prints on the window regardless of how far away I parked. I always just put in the back of a lot as I felt that would be safest. I got tired of the walk after a while and as more showed up on the road, the windows stayed cleaner. I had another car get keyed and it is amazingly frustrating. I feel for you.
