Yea, if only they did what circuit city does.. "Find a better price on the same item within 30 days and we'll refund twice the difference" or something like that.I was glad that I waited past the $1500 rebate offer to get a $2000 rebate. And I suspect that the dealers won't be so generous with other haggle/discounting now that the rebate is $3000. My vibe base with auto, mono paint, power, tunes, and a cargo box listed at 19,725, and I drove it home after taxes and rebate for 17,999. I put the top $4000 on my discover card, defering the payment 1.5 months and winning me $40 cash-back. Remember, that's AFTER paying the 7.3% local sales tax. So hurray for those of you yet to buy your vibes. I've certainly been enjoying driving mine this last 1.5 months, and don't regret the deal I got one bit. Enjoy your $3000 rebate vibes if you get one. KSNeptune

When I bought mine it was $500 and 4.9 %. The rebate on all Pontiacs except Vibe is $3000, but the Vibe is $2000. 0%x60months and 1.9%x72 months. That's pretty strong especially if someone wants a great APR and payment. That's OKAY when the GXP comes out, I will trade for one.

there is a chance that GM might extend the ring & win promotion. GM didn't get the increased sales they were expecting. From what I was told, December was a very slow month.

Spoken truly like someone who is waiting on a VIBE to arrive any day (like me). That would be nice. If they end the ring&win, chances are the next promotion won't include the VIBE at all. That's why GM Canada sucks. When I last spoke with the GM Canada Customer Service (1800GMDRIVE), I asked about the ring&win promo and if I could get it applied to my VIBE even if it comes after it expires. I know the answer is no, but I still ask anyway. She said that the VIBE is a very popular car. I thought then, is it really? I don't think it is. If a manufacturer intentionally starves a market of a product, that doesn't make it popular, does it? It makes it scarce and rare, but not popular. It is unbelievable that GM Canada doesn't know the difference. They are more stupid than you can even imagine. 'GM Canada Customer Service' is an oxymoron. Did I mention they suck?

I'm actually going in for the ring & win tomorrow night. My car isn't in yet, but all you need to buy the car is the VIN number (which I have since the car has been built). So, if your car is built before the 13th. Get your VIN and buy to take advantage of the promo.

I asked my dealer if I could do that and he said no. So did the dumb telemarketer at 1800GMDRIVE. My car HAS been built and is supposed to be on its way to Windsor by rail. GM Canada sucks even worse than I thought. Did I mention they suck?

I'd say your dealer sounds like a bunch of jerks. Its really too bad you(we) don't have any leverage in this situation. Threaten to cancel and they'll have your car sold within 24hrs. I'd expect GM to say no, most companys don't like to bend promo rules (GM still sucks though)

I saw a news item in my local newspaper that said that GM's rebate program starting 1/3 offers rebates "UP TO" US$3,000 on select models. It did not state which ones. The web site media.gm.com does not show any new information. Does anyone have a web site which confirms that $3,000 is the new rebate amount on a Vibe? No rumors, please..... - Earl

I do feel the same as you VibeRater. Mine is still underway and hope to get it before target date but I think that GM will continue on it's way with new promo (at least 0% rate such as GM USA - new promo began jan 3rd) Dont't know if any of us could have access to media.gm.com (with user name and password) and tell us if there is anything beyond the Ring&Win present promo...

All you Canucks needn't worry about the big $2,000 or $3,000 rebate. . GM is back to the Ring and Win? with a $500 minimum (i.e. any smuck like me gets $500 max.). As I've said before, I love the car but I don't love GM and their silly games. We called to complain as we just missed the $1,000 rebate by about a week and were given very short shrift. They have the right to make changes as stated in the fine print. I in future reserve the right to do business with a company that doesn't act like a horse's ***. Too bad.. The further irony is that they seem to put great pressure on the dealers about their customer relations. Somebody isn't communicating very well!

Don't worry about the rebate offered. Just negotiate until you get the car for the price you want to pay. I negotiated at one dealership when the US rebate was $1500, and was able to get down to about $400 above dealer cost. I didn't buy. A month later when the rebate was $2000, I tried again at another dealer and the best I could do was about $400 above dealer's cost. Each time the rebate was considered as part of the my payment for the car. The previous dealer wouldn't do any better, even though I suggested his car should have been $500 less with the new rebate. What does it mean? Negotiation can get you to the same place, no matter what rebates or other offers are in place.KSNeptune

We're Canadians, you know, second class citizens in the eyes of GM. GM dealers here just laugh at us and tell us "the VIBE is a very popular car". GM Canada has not figured out the difference between 'popular' and 'chronically starved market'. Bottom line, GM Canada are bumbling idiots. Did I mention they suck?GM USA customers enjoy a true market environment for the VIBE, and I think it's great you can dicker on price, like you should be able to. That is not the case in Canada. Our GM car market is artificial and unfair. Here it's pay this price (MSRP) or **** off and get lost punk.

100% my experience.. I checked dealers all over Ontario and not a one would discount the Vibe because they are selling like hotcakes. They continually alluded to the Saturn no dicker price idea. I also checked Cars4U and they weren't worth bothering with. I had actually hoped to get my car in my home town but they couldn't even get me what I wanted at full list price so I took the plunge when I saw the right car elsewhere during the financing and Ring to Win promo.

[QUOTE]I checked dealers all over Ontario and not a one would discount the Vibe because they are selling like hotcakes[QUOTE]Again, that's not true. Sales figures are not that good. Can't sell what you don't have. Chronic starvation and artificial shortage is causing this problem, not brisk sales. How can you 'briskly' sell a car that takes 6 months to arrive. GM Canada are damn fools.

You could be right.. Perhaps an orchestrated shortage and the law of supply and demand kicks in. On the other hand, that would be attributing some kind of intelligence to GM Canada (of a sort). Seems unlikely. It is possible to get a Vibe off the lot if you will take any colour and any equipment. I insisted on the Safety and Security package which seemed hard to get. I agree that it is a shame about those that oredered cars. GM will lose a lot of business over the bungling of all this in Canada especially. Too bad for such a nice and good car.

I was going to order my Vibe from the factory and she said If we get a VIN number and build date I can start the sale and you can still receive the incentive. I still didn't try it though. I purchased what they had on the lot.
