My g/f has been a member over on that site for about the past year now, since she bought her RSX. I gotta check this out. Some of the people there are flat out rude and mean. She knows little about cars and when she asks a rather simple question, she usually gets a couple of smart-(removed) replies.

This is exactly why I like this forum soo much more than MV.N. The people think the Vibe is a POS and the Matrix is some sweet ride when they are quite similar. Yes there are differences, but that doesn't mean the Vibe is inferior vehicle compared to the Matrix. And I've also noticed that you won't get flamed here for asking a simple question. Inder

That's why I love you guys....I know nothing about cars either, but any time I have asked a question I get nothing but help around here--I really appreciate that!

Yes, that's what a car forum is all about man. What's someone going to gain out of flaming someone? Nothing. Inder

A good part of that is due to the average age of a Toyota owner against the average age of a Pontiac owner.I guarantee you if this were a eclipse enthusiast site, it would not be anywhere NEAR this pleasant.

You're absolutely right, Mike. What's pitiful is that even in that RSX site thread, one of the members gloats about how he gets bored easily and when he gets bored he likes to go into the one forum for the new members and screw with the newbies. Now what is there to be gained by that? I mean, grow up man. It's like stupid pranks that upperclassmen play on high school freshmen. Get a life. Someone should provide him with a padded room and a loaded revolver to play with next time he gets bored.

Please don't mistake my penalty boxing some quotes here from you, I think that you raise some valid points.Quote, originally posted by Atomb »that's because many of them use their cars to compensate for the lack of other "Things". Now this one really made me laugh. If your other "Things" are so pathetic that the best you have to compensate with is a Pontiac Vibe or Toyota Matrix, I feel very, very badly for that person! lol!Quote, originally posted by Atomb »i'm amazed at how ...insecure?...people have become these days that they have to constantly put on a 'tough guy' image no matter what...There are actually many studies going on about this right now. With the rise of internet chat, blogs, and forums like this, the anonymity that they provide has really emboldened many people and sent them onto a power trip of astronomical proportions. They are then carrying this new-found boldness away from the computer and into the real world. I'm actually quite surprised that there has yet to be a major rise in good old-fashioned (removed) beatings. This behavior is being linked to road rage, as people get the same "you can't do anything to me" attitude when they're behind the wheel of a car.Quote, originally posted by Atomb »whether that's through flaming simple questions to look like they're so above that or if it's walking around with a big mean dog...These sorts of behavior are typical methods some people use to try to assert superiority over someone else and get them to back down or not even attempt to bother them. Kind of like childish bullying in an adult manifestation.Quote, originally posted by Atomb »or if it's always about how what they have 'X' is so much better than what you have 'Y'.Now that is classic insecurity. Some people live in a state of paranoia that someone else out there might have something bigger, better, faster, or somehow superior to something that they have. They must be on the cutting edge of everything or they can't function in society. Their sense of self-worth is based completely on physical posessions rather than a healthy sense of accomplishment and belonging. This type of person typically appears to be narcissistic and highly self-confident on the outside, but it is really a facade of a hollow shell of a person who is completely broken on the inside. And they will never admit to it.Wow, that was really wierd! Sigmund Freud has just escaped from my body!

Same parts or not, if it doesn't say Toyota on it, the thing is a piece of crap. (removed)!I gvc - youse guys are great. Inder --As a matter of fact, I do accept paypal! I thought that one actually one of my shorter penalty box sessions. The thinking sometimes gets a bit heavy, but I tried hard to keep each response short and concise. Oh wait, I forgot. That wasn't really me speaking, it was Freud who temporarily took over my body that wrote all that.

sounds like a bunch of cyberPunks who have vicarious life-style issues from listening to too many Rap songs.Thank God this forum has none of that crap. IN many provinces here in Canada and now I am told in many States as well.....the messages on that RSX forum would be plain and simply considered uttering threats....and charged as such by the law.

Here in the States, it is typically Constitutionally protected free speech unless there is good reason to believe that a person would actually act on such statements. It's too easy for someone to claim that "I was just blowing off steam" or something like that.
