My 2003 VIbe's starter would not engage, turns out the clutch (bendix) was bad. It appears that Pontiac Parts are more expensive than Toyota, my mechanic paid $95 for the clutch and Toyota apparantly only wanted 80. Same for the entire starter, Toyota 371, pontiac 433. No one had it in stock.

Pontiac buys the parts from Toyota. Hence your price incrase.

It just failed me again! I cant believe this is happening. Spent 212 on getting the new clutch in friday and tonight it again would only click. It did spin a few revolutions before I replaced it anyway. ANy other ideas. Someone mentioned the starter relay and it is under the dash. How about tip on getting to it once more.
