Water spot stains?

Post by DopeVibeGT »

Anyone else have these on their door handles? That the only place they are. I'm hoping rubbing compound will take these off in the spring. These paint jobs blow. LOL

I have a little fading on there, and some white blotches on my seat from like french fries and food dropping lol. I have some carpet cleaner in a car care package thing I got so im going to try that on the door and see if it works. I'll let you know the verdict.

Sounds like we can't win for losing! The door handles on mine (2-tone) are terribly faded. But if you'd like, I can trade you a set of faded black ones for your spotted blue ones! A light clearcoat polishing compound, clay bar, something like that may work for you... And yes, damn straight this paint blows!

My handles arent faded...yet. LoL Just the spots. As for the seats, my Grand Am use to get those spots (until I put racing seats in LOL), so it isnt just the Vibes seats. I have fitted seat covers now, so that problems gone. And no thanks, Panic. LOLI thought about getting the leather replacement kit I found. They are suppose to be good and I've seen a Grand Am with them in.

Mother's 'Back to Black' works well to restore original color on the 2-tone door handles, grille, and the lower cladding. In my experience, armor-all-type products also work in the beginning, but do not last not for a long period of time.

Yep... I've been using Stoner TrimShine on the door handles... I've always been a bit concerned about putting any sort of protectant on the outside plastic, I have found on a couple occasions that things like Armor All can make the plastic fade even more... Maybe that was just bad luck. I never used any on the door handles until last summer - and they still faded, without having anything on them.At any rate, the TrimShine stuff works quite well...
