I've called my dealer a couple of times to try to get information about the supercharger. Since I'd like to test drive a car with the SC before deciding to buy the part, I ask to speak with sales: sales has never heard of the SC. I figured that the service department should know something about it, but they don't either, nor the parts department.I assume that when the SC comes out, there will be some on the lots with it installed to test drive- do you think that's true. In any case, I'm getting the runaround from my dealer, methinks cuz the sales guys won't get a commish on it.The Vibe has been my first new car purchase, and I've been very underwhelmed with the quality of the dealerships out there.Any thoughts?
I think you will always find sales departments in the dark about things that do not exsist yet, so they can't sell them yet. Pontiac intendeds to introduce the supercharger during the 1st quarter of 2003. When the time comes the parts department will be the first to know. If a dealer will invest the cost ($3,000+) in a stock car for inventory and demo, that is another question. Some probably will, it will be just a question of finding them.
My salesman called me a couple weeks ago to tell me he was going to "training" for the new Vibe supercharger. So at least at my local dealership the salemen will know of the supercharger when asked, even though there may not be any available yet.KSNeptune.
I wonder if Pontiac will only select a handful of select dealers to sell/install the SC. If you browse the GMGoodwrench website, they have a pre-selected list of dealers.
