New type of Fiberglass for Body kit

Post by Psychovibe »

It's official. Our body kit is being made of a new type of fiberglass called aeroflex. IT FLEXES!!!!!Thats right boys and girls this stuff is awesome. we saw a rear bumper twisted over 90 degrees and no cracking and popping. it just took it and then returned to normal. This should eliminate a lot of breakage. Just thought everyone would like to know.

A flexible additive would have to be used with the paint, similar to what is used with the saturn vehicles.

Yes a flex additive will take care of the paint. Just think about all those other bumpers that have gotten broken in the past. Not these!!!

Right now my kit is in Calif. And not on my car. What was on the car was a prototype that Aerogear is using to make the molds off of. It is covered up with a tarp and I can't drive it. This sucks. The kits were being tested with the new Fiberglass and we should have the test pieces in soon to know if anything needs to be changed before the actual productioin run is made. It should be 2-3 weeks after we give them the ok that the other kits will be in. Keep in mind these kits will be the very first ones made of this and lots of people are going to be looking at them, so they are being very sure they are worthy of all the attention. We are still looking at a date of Late Feb-Early Mar for delivery. I will keep everyone posted.

Thanks Chris ya know, you may need to raise that puppy up a bit after the kit! you want to be able to at least slowly go over a speed bump!

Actually, the only problems I've had with speedbumps come from my front mudflaps...AFTER I cut them down by a 1 1/2 inches. I'll just leave them off after the kit's installed Anyone want a used set of '03-04 mudflaps?

That and having to let my wife drive it which I already dread because she is so oblivious and careless that she would curb the new rims and destroy the body kit in 1 day! Oh yeah, and AWESOME news Chris!
