Turbocharger for Vibe GT...Help please!

Post by Emerica13 »

I recently bought an 03 Vibe GT and have looked all over the internet for a turbo for it but can't find one. I saw in another thread people suggesting the Stafford turbo, but, since the site isn't working now, I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions as to where I could find either a turbo or a supercharger for a 2003 Vibe GT. Thanks

It doesn't look that way... It *looks* like a kid who was a customer got the domain name, because he wanted to help Stafford out when their old site went belly up... and here's the last post from the administrator/kid."TN Zazza Administrator Join Date: Jan 2004Posts: 8 To be honest, i will be removing the site. I was promised a kit also, and did not receive it, along with money I wanted returned, and I never got a word back. So I am not going to affiliate myself with StaffordFabrication anymore, and will be removing this site. If you guys need help from me, check me out at TunerNetwork.com"

There's only room for one turboed vibe in MI and that's me. You're just gonna have to leave town. J/KGood luck on getting a kit, I would love to ride in a boosted GT.

Maybe I'm just internet impaired, but I can't find any turbos that will fit a vibe. I looked at all the links you guys gave me but can't find any. Maybe if someone could post a direct link to something that will work, or provide some insight as to what I could look for, I'm kind of new to the tuning aspect of cars and don't know much. I read something about a 2zz engine I think it was. Should I be looking for a turbo for a 2zz engine? ANY tips will help. Thanks a lot!

You might want to read up on turbo charging and find out more what is going on, Then find a local shop to put on a custom set up.

Yeah, I went to the Stafford site but couldn't find anywhere to go to get more information on their products. Also, if you have any info on a supercharger, I've been looking into those, but can only find them for the base vibe, not the GT model. Thanks

Thanks a lot for all your help, guys! Devlop, I'll check out what you suggested in the pm. So, if I understand correctly, I'm looking for a turbo for the 2zz engine that will fit a Vibe/Matrix. The equivalent of the vibe GT is the Matrix XRS, right? So if I find a turbo that says it fits a Matrix XRS then it should fit my vibe? I'm just trying to get all the facts straight before I go out and spend my cash. Thanks!

The only question I have about this (dont know too much about turbos) is if it comes with an ECU will it matter if its for a Matrix. You know how the GM and Toyota superchargers are same but the ECU is different does that apply to turbo kits?

I believe you need a GM ECU, but won't bet my life on it...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

It depends if your gonna run a piggy back or not. I use a 5th injector controller for my setup which wires into the ecu. All the tuning is done with that controller. It's setup to add the extra fuel that is needed when the factory injectors are maxxed out.I believe C2 power will be developing a kit for the 2zz engine soon. I think there is more talk of this over on matrixowners.com. They have already developed a kit for the 1zz and have a group buy setup. Here is a link for the thread about the kit.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=13697
