2006 Impala

Post by ColonelPanic »

Looks like the Impala (and Monte) gets a facelift for 2006... And one can check a 5.3 303 HP V8 on the options list. http://www.autoweek.com/files/...1.htmIn some aspects, I think it's a definite improvement over the '00-current design. I still kinda like the look of the current generation in SS form more than the '06 redesign - never really cared for the latest Impala's styling, but the additional goodies on the SS make it look pretty mean (see attachment.) It's still an Impala, but IMHO, it is not too bad for an Impala. The parents have an '04 SS, pretty wicked. Can't imagine getting a V8 under the hood, their S/C 3800 gets out there and moves quite well as it is...I do hope they did some good things with that car's interior for the new model though... As it stands now, the interior can be a bit cheesy IMHO.

I don't like the Impala's new look. It looks too much like a plain old car, I was a fan of the sharp lines in the current model.

It looks like any mid-size car, BORING. With 303hp, if you wanna look like a cop, it's a good choice. It will probably get a lot of orders from various police agencies.

Great....looks like they found a home for all the leftover Cavalier Fascia's....as far as Cop Cars go, this dealership sells more police cars than any other Chevy Dealer in TN, last year we sold about 400.

i hope they tighten up the tranny and suspension on the 06. i had a courtesy rental 04 when my vibe last needed warranty work and that impaler was a dog. sloshy steering, crappy shifting and pathetic cornering. couldn't pay me enough to drive the current one.not to mention the 'comversion van styling' of the interior... yuck! sylvain

Yeah, I don't like either of those. The 500 is heavy for the amount of power it has and the Impala doesn't really appeal to me as a good looking car.Inder
