Agreed...it's odd how all four got pushed under the vehicle in front of them, even if it was a car and not something sitting up particularly high. Usually the energy would dissipate enough that that might happen to one or maybe two, but not all of them. If the Honda was going fast enough to push ALL of them under like that, it would be obliterated, and it's not. There's just something odd about it...People still shouldn't tailgate though!
My guess is that they were braking when they got rear ended. When you brake hard, your nose dives, and your rear gets lifted, and if someone hits you, they'll go under you.Either way.... it's a great ad for not tailgating!

Most people wouldn't go to the trouble of creating one this good as a gag.Notice how the rear wheels of the middle vehicles are hanging lower than they would if the cars still had full weight on them. Notice that lighting and shadows appear consistent throughout, even the black car's door left open casts a shadow in the appropriate place, and there's the correct shadow behind the person onto the car in mid-right of the picture. Notice that the rear fenders of the SUV are also raised from the car stuffed underneath. Notice the front of the final Honda IS pretty crunched. Where are the cops? Taking pics like this and laughing their rear ends off!

It looks almost too perfect to just have happened like that!I'm sure this could happen when thinking about the physics of it, but I'm still kinda wondering....The real thing or fake, I do agree it's a good example of why tailgating is a bad thing! Keep yer distance folks!

i think it is a well done fake. i had to look at it for a long time and zoom in and out and noticed 2 things i definitely question. 1) no air bag deployment from BMW, it obviously would have2) look closely at the rear of the blue car. it has a side turn signal on the bumper which is bent, not broken, which would not happen.

I'm not air bag expert, but it looks as though the BMW went right under the SUV, with the front bumper untouched. If that's the case, the sensors in the front bumper wouldn't have registered a hit, so the airbags wouldn't deploy.
im pretty sure rear impact makes them go off too. i would imagine a more complex system than just sensors in the bumper anyway. plus, BMW must make one hell of a windshield, there are no cracks in it.

I'm going to lay my unexperienced opinions on the line and say its not photo chopped. The shadows of the cars match, the lighting effects. people standing around, their shadows on the cars. The rear suspension of the BMW, its easy, the rear wheel is not on the hood. And is it possible to pile up like that? never seen 4 cars at once but I have seen 2 before. I'm gonna say its a real pic but possibly constructed lol... for what reason I don't know.
