The question I've always wanted an answer to is why GM/Pontiac never advertises the Vibe. I watch too much TV, and in two years I have seen a commercial for a VIbe exactly once. Even the Pontiac dealers around here never even mention it in their newspaper ads.

Though NOT trying to hijack the intent of this thread...Quote, originally posted by joatmon »The question I've always wanted an answer to is why GM/Pontiac never advertises the Vibe. I watch too much TV, and in two years I have seen a commercial for a VIbe exactly once. Even the Pontiac dealers around here never even mention it in their newspaper ads.I think I can answer that in one hyphenated word: JOINT-VENTUREThe Vibe and Matrix are apparently b@stard-children TO BOTH Pontiac and Toyota, so few dealership sales managers bother to learn how or why they're different than the rest of their model line-up. I never see Matrix ads on TV either.Similarly, MOST salespeople in either dealership don't know or care to learn much more than # of doors, # of cylinders, and how much commission they'll earn (or lose) by selling one, versus selling something (pricier) that they (might) know more about.DESPITE THE LACK OF TV ADVERTISING, the Vibe and Matrix have apparently developed something of a 'cult' status among owners, in part because of GenVibe.com, Matrixowners.com, and perhaps in the beginning, MatrixVibe.net.With more than 150,000 Vibes (and I haven't bothered to learn how many Matrices) sold in 3 years, they're apparently selling them in pretty good proportion to the ability to manufacture them, so there are NOT thousands of them sitting at the factory awaiting transport, or on dealership lots (e.g. a 180-day supplies)Thus, there are not radical incentives cash and financing to move inventory like there are on the pricier models of both makes. I saw a US$5,000 (combined cashback and financing savings) offer on selected new Chevy trucks tonight on TV! The new Chevy Cobalt (only in production since October) already has US$750 cash back!

Cool! Like Raging, I'd like to see the Solstice and Sky... And, would you be interested in snapping any pics from the non-GM guys? If so, I'd really like to see the new Hyundai Sonata if they have it on display. Wish I could attend the show, that's for sure... So, take pics of everything! just kidding! Thanks for being out there and letting us know what's going on!

Nice. Love the G6 coupe! The taillights on the coupe look an awful lot like the Nissan 350Z (another car I drool over). I noticed on the colour chart that they've dropped the dark grey Vibe colour.

That Sequel sure does have similar lines to the MAtrix! Anyone else notice this. Bigger and different front end, but the sides and even the windows are almost identical.

Did anyone request any Corvette Z06 show pics yet? Especially if they have one of the 7-liter '427' engines in a display vehicle. I'm not a fan of the current styling, but at least they're putting serious effort into making it have world-class performance. If you have access, a pic of the Mazda MX Crossport concept, the VW Ragster concept, and the Kia KCD II concept would be appreciated.

I was actually thinking that the hind end of the G6 coupe looks like the Toyota Solara. The Torrent looks good, but with no 3rd seat, the usefulness goes way down.
Well the all the final pics have been uploaded to the NAIAS 2005 Gallery. I attempted to get all the vehicles that were requested in this thread. However, some vehicles were not available at their respected booths or were not unveiled until Tuesday (which day I did not attend).Look for a brief recap on the main site soon. Brief, due to the fact no real new Vibe news was released or easily obtained during this show.Enjoy.P.S.
