let me take this chance to formally introduce myself, I bought my vibe in october of 2004, its a base 5 speed with moons and tunes, and its neptune.

Welcome to GenVibe. The Pioneers should make a big improvement. The Moon and Tunes real weak spot is the stock speakers. How deep are the Pioneers? If you haven't yet, you might want to search for threads about installing new speakers. The front doors are quite shallow because the window, when rolled down, goes behind the speaker. You can gut the old speaker to use as a spacer or make wood spacers. Top mounting reqiures cutting but then you have tons of space. Good luck!
