New Guy

Post by Jezter »

Hey everyone, I'm the new guy here!!! Looked like a good place and I've had two Vibe's in a row, so here I am! Little 'bout me.Male27Jezter or JezI bought a 1999 black Pontiac Sunfire in 1998 and love it. Had a son, wasn't enough room for a kid in that car so when it was time to get a new one(had a Smart Buy) I went back to the Pontiac place. I had been looking at the Matrix as well because I love their silver version but I looked at the Vibe also because I had already had a Pontiac and plus it was cheaper. With the Smart Buy I was able to get the Vibe and the money I owed on the Sunfire went POOF! It was great! I had the very FIRST Vibe in my area and had even tested driven a Matrix that morning. Sadly though I was still in thought about the silver Matrix so I got a silver Vibe, which was a mistake. I liked it an all but it wasn't the same. Mild issues, nothing special but still a great car. A couple months ago I was looking around again since my Smart Buy on that Vibe was almost up. Punched numbers for the GMC Canyon which I love and it didn't worked out, HOWEVER I saw a monotone dark red Vibe and saw the changes and loved it all over again. So, that's what I have, with the duel spoilers too which is great. I am not into cars bigtime so I don't know a thing about what's under the hood or this and that, I know I would like the exhaust tip and some other things eventually, but for now, the spoilers are a nice improvement, and the dark red matches the dark red dragons on my car seats. hehheh. Ok, yeah, went off a bit, sorry. Here I am!!

Thanks for the welcomes!! Been meaning to join a Vibe forum for awhile and this appears to be the biggest and best one, so here I am. And I got the animated sig at Reldesigns.com which is linked above my sig. Actually have a lot of sigs from both them and Iz-Grafix. Good sites.

Let's see. We all know the grill area has changed from the 2003 to the 2005. I personally like the flush newer one, but that's just me. The center console between the driver and passanger seet is lower, small and only has the bottom compartment, not the top one. There is a fifth speaker in the very back, why they didn't put one on the left side to make 6, I don't know. The dash lights where the odometer now have white in there instead of all red. While it gives it a little more of a racing look, I HATE IT. First of all, I LOVE the all red, it was very cool and just seems to the fit the car. The white is EXTREMELY bright set on the regular setting and I always have to turn it down at night, I hate that! There is a new setting on the 2005 that may or may not be on the 2004 where you can set the computer to reconize your tire pressure so that if it's off a little bit a ! will light up to let you know. The guy who sold me the car had no idea what the blinking ! was though, so I had to ready the manuall, which is something I don't normally do, hehheh. Aside from those changes I don't know if there is anything else. I am not into cars hardcore but I really like the Vibe and am very happy with the one I have. The old one was silver with the gray two tone crap on the bottom and had the bars going sideways on the roof rack, which I always wanted to take out. I also had minor leaks on both sides of the car just above the plastic piece on the inside that goes up the door about an inch in. I don't know what that section is called, sorry, but it only happened when it was raining really really hard and if I turned hard enough water would pour out onto my arm and shoulder! I am so glad I have monotone dark red and the aluminum wheels, I hated the wheel covers I had on the last one!! Hope to someday get the exhaust tip and the mat for the back, I had it in the last one and I notice it when groceries fly all over the place, LOL. That's about it I believe. Maybe someday I'll be able to change the interiors lights to all red again, but since I am leasing right now, that won't happen for awhile.Damn lease.

Welcome to Genvibe! Love your signature pic. When I get my next Vibe I'm taking my cargo mat from my current Vibe and putting it in the new one.

Reminder: If you get the rear subwoofer in an '05, the '03 rear mat won't fit!

Welcome Jezter! You picked a great color, our first Vibe was salsa also, but we love our fusion now. That speaker in the back is a sub woofer, and Sputnik is right about the mat not fitting. We were able to salvage the mat out of our first vibe and it curls up on the right side, but we don't mind, it reminds us of our first Vibe. The white instrument lights bug me too, I agree with you on the red being better. I've really grown to like the new grill though.I like those seat covers too!john

Can't you order a mat for the 05, or do they just not come with them? And I would never lower my vehicle, I am just not into that style at all.
