Vibe Concept......

Post by LocDog »

Here it is folks... The origin of the Vibei can link the pic, the brackerts in the address are messin everything up. Just copy and paste the link into ur browser:http://www.popularmechanics.com/automot ... FBE[1].jpgYou can see similarities, like the roof rack and the lower body. Maybe it was ment to be a 4-door car....

See attachment. I saved it to this post. The brackets [ ] in the image URL mess with the board coding causing the link to not display correctly.

The rims look like the ones on the aztek, maybe its suppose to be a redo on the original design

Looks nice, but not for me. I need a real 4 doors. With that kind of suicide doors, it looks hard to put the baby on the back seat. For sure, it is better then a 2 doors, but the actual Vibe is great. Also, it looks a little bit like the new Nissan 350z....

I think suicide doors would be great for loading a baby into the car seat. No 'B post', so if you open both doors, you'll have a ton of room to maneuver the little on in and out.

Suiced doors open with the hinges rear. Normally you'll only find rear passenger doors opening rearward. Why suicide? When early cars came out with them there were no saftety locks to keep them from being opened when the car was at speed. If you accidently opened a suiced door then, at speed, you and the door your were holding would be ripped off/pulled out of the car by the wind.

that actually happened to my dad when we was a kid. The door wasn't closed properly so he openned the door to pull it tight like he'd seen grampa do (I think my dad was 8 at the time). Door swung open and pulled him out. He hit his head on a light post. I can't remember the rest of the details, but he was in a comma for a few days (weeks?). Luckly for my dad the only side effect of the accident was a good story.

Modern applications of the "suicide" doors are seen on the new Saturn Quad coupe and Mazda 8. I would rather have a 2 seater than a coupe with a back seat and 2 doors. major pain the neck to access. This configuration gives you the style and some utility.
