HeyI was just wondering if any of you know how much custom modification it would take to put an Eaton M90 off of a GTP to fit? I have a cousin that is going to buy a diffrent one, and will give me his stock one if it can fit. Lemme know Thanks

Not a good plan! First, the Vibe SC has an integral intake manifold to bolt up direct to the head ( very difficult to reproduce); the GTP does not. Second, it's way too big, being sized for a 3.8 L. engine, and would have much higher internal leakage, thus lower efficiency running at the low speed necessary to not overboost a 1.8 L.
The main reason it wouldn't work is because of how it mounts. Centrifugal S/C's can be mounted just about anywhere, because they have seperate inlet/outlets and that makes them more flexible as far as applications. The M90 is a roots type blower. This type has 3 lobes inside of it that force air in, rather than an impeller. It mounts directly to the intake manifold of the L67 motor, and thus, is hard to fit on any other type of motor. In fact, it cannot be mounted to a N/A 3800 motor, because the fuel injectors are mounted differently, different pistons, transmission, and con rods.

Yet the blower fit because the intake side was on the firewall side, which allowed a higher hood clearance for the blower. Mike Stafford is a real craftsman, and it is his nitch to have been able to fabricate all that was necessary for the intake side. In fact, he fitted in his own water/air intercooler right below the blower . This was to make sure that the charge air was as cool as possible. It would seem to me that the larger SC would be able to blow cooler air in the 1st place , because it would not have to spin so fast to make plenty of air. Yet , with the intercooler, it was that much better. The leakage issue that Bill spoke of, I dont know about that. I just could not see fitting an M90 under our hood. On another note, I once spoke to STafford about SCing my car. Ther is another eaton blower in between the M45 and the M90...I think it is an M62???..That was the size he wanted to use on our car. The kit M45 is small and has to work very hard, and the charge air is very hot. I think with the M62, one could make good power as long as the charge air was cool enough....
