Stock stereo replacement

Post by chadhgraves »

Does anyone have any suggestions for replacing the stock head unit with a double din unit (I think that's what it's called)? I don't really want the little tray under the unit. I would like something that had an aux input for my ipod and gave a little more punch than the stock unit. I have a 2003 base Vibe with the power option but no moon and tunes package. Thanks.

Hi Chad...DVD - Kenwood DDX7015http://www.kenwoodusa.com/prod...=2557Cass/CD - Clarion ADB340MPhttp://www.clarion.com/usa/pro...340MP or JVC KW-XC777http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp...Id=63I don't think any of these have front inputs other than the JVC Unit though I think the Clarion is probably a better unit. If you want DVD as well, The Kenwood apparently matches the silver color around the temp/vent/audio area fairly well. All the units look pretty nice. I'm saving up for the KenwoodDave

Thanks Dave. The JVC looks like a pretty good match. I just got done installing some 5.25" Pioneers for the rear speakers using cohocarl's guide and it was a chore. I think i'm going to leave the front speakers and the deck to a professional. Does anyone have any suggestions for some deep sounding speakers with clear highs? I'm looking for something with a nice thump to it without having to install a sub in the back. I like to have my cargo space. Merry Christmas everyone.
