My bad week w/ my Vibe.

Post by dsegundo »

Last tuesday my car came up w/ a CEL that stayed on and would flash through the 3K RPM range in 3rd gear. I took it to the dealer, who shall remain nameless at this point, and they couldn't figure out what was wrong but the codes came back as misfiring on all four cylinders. YAY me, right? they couldn't fix it and sent me on my jolly way. Later that night: The CEL came back on and would do the same thing. HOW EXCITED WAS I? so I made another appointment and dropped off my car at said Dealership. The car was there all weekend and I got a phone call yesterday from the service manager. he had bad news for me: great I thought. My car is messed...boy was I right but in a different way: My car was on the dealers lot and had got broken into and my head unit was STOLEN right under their noses. They caught the guy on tape but I'm not sure what's going on now.yay me....Merry ****ing christmas.Needless to say: Next time I'm asking for the "Pull-in Service" /end rant

That really sucks! Hopefully things turn around for you. Dealer should have to replace HU and any other damage done to your car while on their lot ( I should assume!). Hopefullt they find and fix your CEL problem as well after all this!

I guess thats what we get for living in Flint. What a great city, you should see the crap that happens just around my campus. Hold the Dealer responsible, it's on their property, under their care, and they have it on video, so they can't deny it happened on their lot.

Hopefully you didn't sign a form that in the fine print said something like "they aren't responsible for anything."

Aww, sorry to hear about your luck! I hope they replace it, you'd think it would be safe on the lot. Or put somewhere safe at the very least

Man, that sucks. I know that dealers carry insurance that covers the cars on their lot, but not sure how that addresses cars that are in for repair. Here's hoping that the rest of your week goes much better.

The car was on their lot, so it's THEIR responsibility. Don't take anything less than an exact replacement (if not better). So long as your warranty is still good, your engine problem should be coverred. Get a loaner from them and at least you'll be puitting miles on something other than your Vibe in the interim.

Well I'm feelin your anger. I'm not too happy with my Pontiac dealer either...the guy in the paint shop lied to me and said the rust on the hatch wasn't covered under warentee. What's up with these dealers?

Yeah. This isn't too good. I should go up there with you. Do you think I look scary enough, or do I need some more hair and some dirty clothes to go up there with you to make sure that you get what you deserve.Inder

(removed), I would too! I was just sharing with you how dumb the dealers have become. I went to teh show room to inquire with one of them about a supercharger for the Vibe...the lady said "supercharger for the Vibe? I don't think they have those for Vibes....maybe check the parts department" I just kinda stared at her and walked away.So what do you think they will say? I hope they replace it...maybe tey will ge (removed) back when they capture the thief.

Sorry to hear about that. The C.E.L.'s and having your car in the shop is bad enough, but the stereo deal sucks. Hope they catch the guy(s), but wouldn't count on it. I had the convertible top slashed open and the stereo ripped out of the dash of my 75 MGB at C.M.U. many years ago. When we ordered a new 94 Chevy Cavalier w/o a stereo because I wanted to put in a new JVC cd player. Well, that lasted about 4 months until someone smashed the passanger window out and ripped the JVC from the dash in Bay City. It is unfortunate there are scum out there who do that sort of thing. Try to have a good holiday.

Well we have had rims stolen right off vehicles in our lot, both from new vehicles and off ones locked in the compound in the back. People have cut or climbed over the 10ft high fence coiled with barb wire... We had a truck on parked against the back fence, customer came to get it and we walked out to it and there it was sitting neatly up on blocks with the rear wheels gone. 3 trucks have been stolen off the lot for their Big Wheel rim package. Cops got those trucks back without the rims... found in a corn field. The boss had his truck broken into and the radio, which was not the best one either stolen from it, as well as the mounted lights off the plow truck one friday night. That same night 2 rims were taken off a truck on the lot, the guys got scared or didn't bring enough jacks cause they could not get theirs out after taking off the 2 rims... ppl are sooo stupid... lol... All in the 2004 year in a little 30,000 town... There was a red dodge 3 guys tried to steal right while the sales guys were on the lot walking around at 7:30 one evening.Hopefully they replace your system through their insurance as well as fix the window, and the rest of your cars issues.

That, sucks so badly. I work at Circuit City, and sometimes we have to keep a car past closing. We're required to bring it in the shop, and lock it up tight. Sometimes, we'll even fit four cars in there! (it's a two-door shop..so it gets interesting)I've had my Vibe in the local Chevy dealership since the tuesday after thanksgiving.. I'm currently waiting for UPS to deliver the new flywheel in the next day or so.. Hopefully they have it locked up in a shop...i'd be really pissed if they somehow got my car outside with the clutch/tranny pulled! That sucks, big time. They definitely should be responsible..I know Circuit City would be if we left a car out overnight..

Your insurance company pays you, then goes after their insurance company to recover what they paid you.Yes, they need the receipt to pay you for the radio.
