Are aftermarket sunroofs still prone to leaking over time?

Post by sylvainber »

I'm toying with the idea of adding a sunroof to my '04 Base. I've heard many times over the years that aftermarket sunroofs always end up leaking down the road (or years). Is that still the case or have the retrofits solved the problem in recent years?i'd appreciate any and all input. thankssylvain

I went to find out about instaling a sunroof in my base vibe and was told that there isn't room as the roof structure has a rollover beam in the way. This is set back further on the GT so the sunroof will fit.If you hear any differently let me know.

I don't think that it would be any different since the fact that the headliner is definitely lower in the moons and tunes vibes. Inder

There's an aftermarket sunroof in my Grand Prix. I'm not sure when it was installed (the dealer told me it was right after the car was bought new, but he told me lots of things that were wrong), and I don't have any trouble with leaking. I actually seem to have less leaking that stock GP sunroofs, due to the drain tubes in the factory 'roofs.Hope this helps you out.
